Anyway, I was just going through some olds threads from 2005-2007 just to see how dumb I was when I was 15-17 years old when it came to baseball. Here are some funny/stupid things I had said. I'm embarrassed.....

 

 

Dec 23rd, 2006 - The Brandon McCarthy trade.....

OH MY GOD. NOOOOOOO. McCarthy was my favorite player and I couldnt wait for him to start. I am utterly ****ed off right now. I cant believe it. We now have a terrible rotation, and I really dont give a damn about next season anymore. No joke. I could careless about the team now... I cant believe this... PLEASE GOD. Let someone fail a physical...

 

I really dont give a **** about these new player. I am ****ed as hell right now. Holy **** im mad. This better result in a trade in which we do something HUGE.

 

....I give up....

 

EDIT: we got some scrub pitchers by the way.. no one who will ever be as good as McCarthy.

Don't feel bad, the reaction was pretty much the same here, myself included. I was dead wrong on the Bmac deal.

 

Hell this was my avatar just last year before the Sox went on that tear through the NL. Yeah I can make some dumb ass posts too.

It was one of those moments where KW just said, "trust me guys".

Loved the trade, Danks was a high ceiling lefty where as B-Mac really never wowed me.

 

But if you go back far enough all of us have a bad moment.

You should've been here through the near epic collapse in 2005. All the choke avatars led by Tizzle were the stuff of legend. I think the dumbest thing I ever said was that I hoped the Sox did end up missing the playoffs so we could avoid an inevitable sweep by the Yankees, Red Sox or Angels. Another one was more recent in that I liked the Tony Pena deal. And I chastised anybody who said we gave up too much for a reliever. Pena sucks and Allen looks the part of a solid regular. I know there's a lot more dumbass gaffes from me. I'll do a google search later.

I don't remember being pissed off about that deal, but I was confused as hell, scratching my head trying to figure it out. I started to change my mind during Danks's rookie season.

I didn't go through all 60 pages but my initial reaction was much more tame than I remember. I was pissed when that trade happened, I know that.

Between these two trades, the Thornton deal and the CQ deal, though CQ has sucked ass since 2008, KW was in a f***ing zone. What happened?

Good for me. I was just glad we were able to get a anything for a starting pitcher that was quite obviously injured, regardless of how well he pitched near the end of the season. You don't get bluechippers for a starter who lost as much velocity as Garcia did between '05 and '06. 2 young starters for Flamethrower Freddy? s*** yeah. I like how I seemingly learned my lesson from the Thome trade (when I freaked the f*** out) and didn't say a damn thing in the Danks thread, aside from predicting that Mark Buehrle would not pitch for St. Louis while still in his prime. I really have no idea how I felt about the McCarthy trade.

It's just so funny all the post in the McCarthy thread about how Danks or Floyd is going to have to be the 5th starter now, and now they're both key members of our rotation.
