White Sox vs. Oakland A's

Featured Replies

If anybody hasn't already noticed, Castro calls exclusively for pitches away when we have a reliever on the mound, must be pretty hard to hit when you know where to look for the pitch

Matt is overthrowing quite a bit.

This ball game is over

It's amazing this team has the record it has.

six more runs from the bullpen!

OMG this is just a complete, utter meltdown.

Danks Should have Closed His Own Game Out. Same thing as Buerhle on Monday!

I can't believe just ONE aspect (the bullpen) of this otherwise fairly solid team is about as frustrating for me to watch as that damn 2007 season as a WHOLE... and it's barely been a week and a half worth of games.

This is just brutal.

Just like the leadoff issues 2 years ago and the DH issue last year, whenever there's uncertainty with a Sox position, you know the self-fulfilling prophecy of failure will occur.

Just in: Jenks is out for a month-hurt himself laughing

About their 2-9 record?

And by July, we have 5 starters on the DL for dead arm, because it doesn't matter who we try to use out of the pen, they fail.

3 freaking runs in the 9th with a 3 run lead and now 3 more in the 10th.

This is really f***ing pathetic.

3 in the 9th.

3 in the 10th (so far).

Unreal.

well his confidence is completely shot now, at this point we have to try santos

Let's ruin Santos too, yeaaaaaa!

We should be immune to it by now

Now there are even bigger problems.

With the idiotic Teahen deal and the extension through 2013 (with another million dollar buyout for 2014) now for Thornton, you might have two busted contracts weighing on the payroll, just when we got out from under the Linebrink fiasco.

I just can't believe Thornton's already been ruined by 12 games as the "closer."

He has to be pitching with a dead arm or hiding an injury.

f*** Matt Thornton.

Ya'll keep making excuses for him, he is pitching like a pile of dog s***, excreted by Billy Koch.

You are utterly hilarious.

greg doesn't need a replacement on this board, thank you.

After that, Thornton obviously is no longer the closer.

The question is truthfully, is he more than an Ohman type guy now?

One batter or two?

He has nothing, no pop. No offspeed, nothing.

Let's face it this team has no closer. None.

Kenny Williams just punched something.

It has to be Ozzies...despite him trying to use just about the entire bullpen, only to have every one of them fail...it's his fault.

Keep making excuses for Sale starting the 9th. Pretty simple choice to use Crain there with 2 righties up.

Of course not, the majority of the people on this board think MT can do no wrong. He's been HORRIBLE.

They can have him he is worthless as a closer and NEVER should be in that situation anymore. He is an 8th inning setup guy period! Anyone who defends a guy 0-4 in saves must love losing.

Bullpen is just snowballing right now.

They need a day off in the worst way.

Crain failed too.

So did Thornton.

So keep making excuses for members of the bullpen, because it wouldn't have mattered WHO Ozzie used. :P

I agree. He has a dead arm or is hurt.

The difference being that there is talent in this bullpen and it is capable of being good whereas it was obvious to the entire world that Mark Kotsay sucked and having him DH was as laughable of a decision as there has ever been in baseball and going with Wise was an absolute joke.
