"I funded the gold tipped bullet that fabulously pierced his body."

I assumed President Obama contacted GWB earlier in the day to give him the news, and that was just confirmed. GWB wrote a statement that was just read that was short, well-composed and very fitting.

Where at?

So, what (if any) effect does this have on what is going on in North Africa and the Middle East?

I really wonder how this affects Obama's chances in the 2012 election.

Regardless, this is awesome news and a symbolic victory for America.

This just in:

All GOP hopefuls in 2012, just ended their 'exploratory campaigns'

Glenn Beck's eyes just lit up. OBAMA YET AGAIN TIED TO THE NAZI REGIME!

Wasn't that reward for killing Osama something like 20 million?

What would be even sweeter, a Boondocks episode about this.

So to clarify just so people reading this thread later don't get wrong info, The President's address confirmed that this happened earlier today — not a week or so ago as had been posted earlier. The intel that had started to pan out beginning back around August (according to Obama) had escalated to the point where the president was apparently involved with 5 briefings in the intel over the last 2 weeks, culminating in the decision that there was actionable intelligence and an order given on Friday to execute the operation.

Nobody's gonna chime in with a "You gotta be...bleeping me?"

$25M in the first months and years after 9/11. Unfortunately for the operative that made the kill I am assuming the offer is null and void if you are employed by the US military or intelligence agencies.
