another case of a s*** player beating the Sox do they even employ a scouting department?

He was hitting .091 before tonight's game. That was definitely unexpected.

We've been waiting for that since the turn of the century.

I think thats why they called it, thinking he'd be thinking theres no way he'd throw another fastball..

This was in response to fathom...not you...don't know what happened.

I have a feeling Thornton will be back to his old self by July. It's obvious now though that making him closer was not good for his head.

No evidence points to this. Evidence is he has fallen off physically.

Why didn't he fall apart last year when he was given a career high in save opportunities?

Terrible pitch selection of 2-1 fastball to a guy that showed he can hit a fastball.

Horrible call for that pitch. If he sticks with sliders, we win.

Gmab man, guys who hit fastballs have struggles with sergio. He left a ball up and out over the plate. Somehow I doubt that was the pitch called for

It's probably not physical. The velocity's there. He's just locating poorly, which could be a mental or mechanical issue.

He has been better as of late, but he's still not himself.

What evidence? His fastball hasn't lost velocity.

90% of the league does what Mitchell does there with that count and that pitch. Hell, people on this board can hit that pitch hard.

He is throwing 96/97 so physical is not the issue. It command of his pitches that's f***ing him.

Called for a fastball, and Sergio's fastball was tailing tonight. It was the only pitch call that he could have hurt us on.
