What happened?

 

Rios misplayed a double that went over his head.

Ozzie either (1) didn't think Washington would bring in Oliver to face Dunn or (2) figured Dunn, at 0 for 31, was due.

 

Either way, he's pretty stupid.

 

amazingly i think that (1) is even more stupid than (2)

What the hell is going on? What a horribly managed game.

But for some reason it's still defended by many for some inexplicable reason.

 

I'm no longer surprised or angered by the defense of terrible managing. It's just as inexplicable as the terrible managing itself.

How can you not counter-move with the lefty in to face Dunn? How??? Does not compute..

Rios got a terrible break on the fly ball and it went over his head for a ground rule double. Anderson would have had it.

That was the worst piece of managing since the hit-and-run with Dunn at home a couple of games back.

Managers are suppossd to put their players in the best poistion to succeed Guillne seems to get hem into the best position to fail

 

McPherson than Vizquel is the right situation there as now McPherson is in the game anyway and Vizquel is the only bat on the bench.

Haha I was debating that. There is also (3) Ozzie has no idea how bad Dunn has been against lefties. That also wouldn't surprise me.

In a situation that would have wasted Dunn anyways, bringing in Vizquel in that situation is a no-brainer.

I don't think Ozzie was looking for Dunn to play small ball, I think he wanted Dunn to blast a ball somewhere deep to get the sac fly. Dunn, however, has no idea how to get a hit off of a LHP, so the obvious result was bad.

But then you pull him if they bring in a lefty for Omar.

Then why not just bring in the switch hitting omar vizquel in the first place?

The problem was...he gave up an out by bunting AJ over to 2b, so yeah, he was looking to play small ball.

To be fair...getting the out from Sale then not giving him the chance to do something wrong isn't exactly a bad move.

I am going to hand it to Pena. Now we have to see if there is any gas left in the tank of a almost non-existent offense
