So when can we start focusing on the 2012 Sox?

Ozzie is gone. Robin is in. Cowley no longer serves a purpose.

I could care less what Ozzie via Coward says anymore. Can we move on?

Did they find a hitting coach yet?

When Ozzie no longer has a mic in his face or Cowley a job.

I pray for that day. Until then we get a sad imitation of Jay Mariotti.

So what's the deal with the hitting and bench coach?

I'm not entirely sure but I think MLB either really doesn't like it or actually has rules against doing announcements on these types of hirings during the Series.

I think the MLB doesnt like anything taking the shine off the world series. They were really pissed at Boras in 2007 for announcing that Arod was opting out of his deal

It isn't a hard and fast rule, but they discourage it. That's why Selig is talking about stepping in between Boston and Chicago because they are distracting from a great series so far.

Ha... like news of the Chicago White Sox hiring an inexperienced bench coach and hitting coach for an inexperienced manager's staff is really going to take away attention from the World Series. That's a silly rule. I could see if they were talking about Ozzie's move during the World Series, but a bench and hitting coach? Silly.

Does anyone besides us rabid White Sox fans even care?

I have moved on, Cowley hasn't, and I'm sure he'll write another 2 or 3 columns this winter alone with comments from Guillen on something Sox related. Cowley is going to run that story into the ground (as if he wasn't already) since he thinks it's an attention grabber for him.

I heard some of the recent Ozzie comments, but didn't read the column. Why? Because I'm sick of hearing about the conflict over the last 2 years. Just exhausted from it. Without even taking a side on the conflict, the bottom line is that I'm a White Sox fan and that will continue regardless of the fallout. I don't think Cowley understands that.

It's really a stupid rule. Have they seen their ratings? Nobody cares about the World Series. They should be willing and should embrace any/all baseball related news that people are interested in.

I don't think MLB would care about a team making a bench coach move, They do seem to care about manager/GM type of moves, but, again, they shouldn't.

A great series that nobody cares about. Selig is out of touch on this rule.

I am focusing on 2012 White Sox. I will do anything I can to help this team. Do the White Sox ever run focus groups? I would gladly give my honest opinion.

However, I just read the Steve Jobs and Apple didn't believe in focus groups b/c they didn't believe that the consumer knew what they wanted. They believed and may still believe that they create the product(s) that consumer didn't even know that they wanted. lol! They just figure out what people want...without talking to them???

Hey, it has worked well for Apple. but the White Sox aren't Apple. lol! Don't they want to talk with us? And I am not talking about Sox Fest. lol!

The White Sox fans want:

1. A winning team on the baseball field.

You mean 82-80 would be enough? Aim higher. Just kidding....but I want a 100-62 winning record.

OR

you say a winning team on the field. ...guess you want us to only schedule games against teams like the Rangers and Yankees. lol!

I do not consider an 82-80 record to be a winning team, no. I consider that an "over .500 team", not one competing for the playoffs.

More seriously though...no one cares what the White Sox fans want. They will turn out in droves if you have a shot at the division and especially if you compete multiple years in a row and make a playoff run. They will not show up when you put a mediocre, .500-ish team on the field or worse multilple years in a row. No signing will make a difference, no "making the place more fan friendly", nothing. Win and that stadium will fill up, lose and you'll get 18k a game to see a fun ballpark experience.

The Sox are an incredibly responsive organization to one on one interactions with their fans. I mean if you write them something intelligent anyway. I have always had all of my emails responded to, and usually very quickly. I know many others who share my same experiences.

I'm more looking forward to '13 or '14.

I'll take that bet. Over/under of 67.5 wins and I get the over.

That's an absolutely absurd prediction.

2012 White Sox: 67-95 AT BEST...

My parents had yet to graduate from high school the last time the White Sox won 67 games or fewer over the course of a full season. They are 51.

I could see 75 wins, but considering how many players had poor offensive seasons along with (hopefully) a highly motivated group of players with a new manager, I am thinking closer to 85 wins.

This is the AL Central...we better at least be close to .500. lol! We did see some nice production at the end of 2011 from our younger players (Morel, DeAza, Viciedo, Flowers)...that has to give us some hope ...to be at least around .500....lol
