Substitute Gamethread: Sox vs Astros

461 feet. And believable.

Maxwell has some serious power. He hit one at 470 in Coors (I know it's Coors, but still...).

Looks like both Humber and Floyd have issues pitching out of the stretch.

They just showed a very good view showing it to be a HR

Not a bad way to buy some time for bullpen to get ready.

I remember when Floyd walked Schafer in the first game...only to give up a HR to Lowrie. Please don't let history repeat.

DJ says Humber has been efficient because he's k'd 9 LOL

What kind of a throw was that? Good throw gets him.

Tough pitch to make a throw on

Halftime. We better own the second half. I don't like being out homered by the astronauts today. We need to hit a few balls into outer space.

Maxwell is a space cadet but appears to be super talented

i have absolutely 0 ideas as to how, but the third base situation must be rectified

Dayan Viciedo

Agree completely daa

Lucas f***ing Harrell.

I bet this team can't wait to get on the road, cause they don't know how to win at home and that is just sad

One day our righties will learn not to simply attack lefties with fastballs

Lord, it is free meatball day at U.S. Cellular apparently, Phil Humber here to serve them up for you.

I don't think baseball players think that much about home/away

Any good will from the perfecto and his good half-season last year is gone. Phil Humber is crap.

Time for Humber to depart.

Humber needs to be the odd man out when Danks returns

This game is too painful to watch. Completely winnable, but they won't.

I don't have a terrible taste in my mouth today. I expect him to pitch well next time out

Floyd will contest that.

Edit: Danks might contest it too.

This should open a rotation spot in AAA for Zach Stewart

There's a really good book called Who's On Third? by Richard Lindberg. It's a White Sox comprehensive history. Your post reminded me of that book. This year we've had Morel, Lillibridge, Escobar, Hudson, am I forgetting anyone? Talk of Dan Johnson, McPherson, even Youkalis. Who can solve the problem?

Humber and floyd are essentially the same pitcher. That being said, one has a track record of being somewhat successful. The other has no business being in a major league starting rotation. Humber should be the long man or dfa'd. Unbelievable.

The thing about Humber is the walks. His BB/9 has never been like this at any level...makes me think something is up. Can we fake an injury so we don't have to use anyone's option when Danks returns?
