July 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) http://twitter.com/whitesox/status/229411014981079040 Wow. Great move. Thanks for the help today escobar
July 29, 201213 yr just saw this too, could work out to be a good pick up, fingers crossed we get the good Liriano.
July 29, 201213 yr So does humber go to pen? Back to a 6 man rotation with rest for sale/q? That's my guess
July 29, 201213 yr Great move. We lose nothing. Escobar might have a 10-plus-year career, but it's gonna be as a light-hitting starter, but most likely utility player. Hernandez is garbage. Let's hope Liriano finds his filthiness once again.
July 29, 201213 yr The only team that beat the s*** out of him recently was us. So I guess this is good, really good!
July 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 10:05 PM) To Flash Tizzle: There's our Liriano. One of the best posts in recent soxtalk history.
July 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 10:07 PM) Great move. We lose nothing. Escobar might have a 10-plus-year career, but it's gonna be as a light-hitting starter, but most likely utility player. Hernandez is garbage. Let's hope Liriano finds his filthiness once again. I have a feeling Eduardo is going to hurt us in the future. Liriano can possibly pitch against his old team this weekend. Edited July 29, 201213 yr by chw42
July 29, 201213 yr I have to give KW much props, three trades and we gave up nothing. totally agree with you. I bet we will make one more trade
July 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 08:07 PM) I have to give KW much props, three trades and we gave up nothing. If this is true.
July 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 10:05 PM) Wait, that's all it took?? if so, great trade. i know hes inconsistent but i rather give those two up then all the names that were mentioned for greinke. liriano for escobar, hernandez>>>>>greinke for potentially players like viciedo, reed, deaza.
July 29, 201213 yr This is an absolutely phenomenal trade when you consider what some of these other pitchers are going for. Liriano can be a great weapon against lefty-dominant teams like the Indians.
July 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 11:08 PM) Escobar is such a Twins' type player. Yep. As is Hernandez
July 29, 201213 yr I'm okay with this. I see EE as a second division starter at best. Never been fond of Pedro Hernandez. Can't complain about any moves so far. Although Luhnow mentioned that the PTBNL in the Meyers deal will be significant.
