October 5, 201213 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 04:27 PM) How the hell did Chris Davis hit 33 home runs? He's the O's second best offensive player. He always been a player who is super streaky, will hit everything for a month and nothing the next.
October 5, 201213 yr QUOTE (Cali @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 04:48 PM) Ross with the Strike out followed by a Home Run. Freddit Gonzalez with the first "genius" managerial move of the playoffs, benching his starting catcher.
October 5, 201213 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 10:53 PM) Freddit Gonzalez with the first "genius" managerial move of the playoffs, benching his starting catcher. And then absolute awful move by bunting with Simmons.
October 5, 201213 yr QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) It was the right call. Cards got a break. Totally disagree, that was in left field. He wasn't camped under the ball at all
October 5, 201213 yr QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 06:57 PM) Infield fly rule in the middle of the outfield. Interesting... Where the ball is doesn't matter actually.
October 5, 201213 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 06:58 PM) Totally disagree, that was in left field. He wasn't camped under the ball at all He was under it. By the book its the right call.
October 6, 201213 yr QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 06:59 PM) He was under it. By the book its the right call. He called it a millisecond before the ball dropped. Also, it wasn't an easy trip to get out there, it was a long ways. Terrible call.
October 6, 201213 yr QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 06:59 PM) He was under it. By the book its the right call. He was still drifting back on that and in no way should that have been called an infield fly.
October 6, 201213 yr QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 06:59 PM) He was under it. By the book its the right call. It has to be ordinary effort. Going out there isn't "ordinary."
October 6, 201213 yr QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 07:06 PM) However, this is embarrassing Braves fans. No kidding. I didn't think they cared this much
October 6, 201213 yr Protest? The Nationals need to fly to Atlanta or St. Louis tonight. They better rule on that quick.
October 6, 201213 yr The infield fly is suppose to be called immediately. Not after the infielder runs 30ft into the outfield grass. Wrong call.
October 6, 201213 yr QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 07:05 PM) Nothing will come from this protest. Do believe that the call should have been made sooner?
October 6, 201213 yr The call cant just be made sooner. Its made when the requirements are met I.e. infielder there. The call can happen whenever.
October 6, 201213 yr QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 08:14 PM) The call cant just be made sooner. Its made when the requirements are met I.e. infielder there. The call can happen whenever. I've never been an ump, but all of the people on the TBS broadcast seem to think it was the wrong call. Are they wrong? Why? (not being a jerk, just asking) Also, why can't the call be appealed to the other umps? The 3B ump certainly didn't call it that way.
October 6, 201213 yr QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 07:14 PM) The call cant just be made sooner. Its made when the requirements are met I.e. infielder there. The call can happen whenever. So if the infielder doesn't make an effort the call won't be made? That doesn't seem right.
