June 5, 201312 yr QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 03:18 PM) Yeah I dont even look at any of those comments cause Im not sure if its a TV spoiler or book spoiler. Im caught up on TV, but obviously dont want to glean anything from the spoilers. (edit) But if you are discussing where the tv show is going to go and have read the book you have insight that a tv person would not. IE If in the first season I was saying "Ned is going to be King" after the 1st episode, people who read the book would have said.... HE GETS HIS HEAD CUT OFF
June 5, 201312 yr QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 03:18 PM) But it's very much in relation of talk of where the show may go, it's not strictly book talk this time. But it's talk about where the show may go - knowing spoilers and exactly where the show will go. Edited June 5, 201312 yr by Steve9347
June 5, 201312 yr QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 03:16 PM) Well we see Asha in the preview for next week. My guess is because we either see or hear of Balon's death and the groundwork gets laid to introduce the rest of the Greyjoys next season. I think they'll spend alot of time on that arc next season because you need her to come back in at some point as well as introduce her uncles.

I hope you're right and they don't cut it due to time constraints and excessive characters. I'd love to see what they could do for the kingsmoot

June 5, 201312 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 04:36 PM) Dont they have to show that because of the horn of binding or whatever its called They could easily work that in some other way though if they wanted to cut time and/or characters. We don't even know the significance of that in the books yet.
June 6, 201312 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 03:27 PM) But it's talk about where the show may go - knowing spoilers and exactly where the show will go. You're 100% correct. Any and all of this book talk should be in a separate thread, maybe the Books discussion thread? This is the TV thread...the only GoT spoilers should be the show up until S03E09...and discussion on what people(non book readers) think is going to happen. Anything coming from the books is too much and takes up too much of the TV thread.

June 7, 201312 yr I don't and won't watch GoT, but I just watched that Red Wedding scene that nerds are freaking out about. I don't know who any of those people are, but that was pretty incredible if they were all main characters.

Well, in the book there are alot of main characters as each chapter is written from a POV of a different one. But overall they were kind of your "good side" main people. It was just as shocking reading it.

Don't you watch that garbage show Davinci's Demons? But you refuse to watch a great HBO show? I just don't get hating on Game of Thrones for no particular reason. It's not like we're talking about some overhyped show like Downton Abbey.
June 7, 201312 yr QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) North America is so freaking fantastic. Never mess with a chipmunks nuts.
June 7, 201312 yr I don't watch GoT because I'm not into fantasy and I'm not into the period of history that fantasy is loosely based on. I don't like Lord of the Rings, for instance (bracing for the "GoT is TOTALLY different!" posts. You get my point.). I also don't normally go for shows that people go crazy about because that annoys me.

I've never been a huge fantasy guy myself but they are just so well written IMO. The parts that interest me are mostly the politics of war. Edited June 8, 201312 yr by RockRaines

June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 04:51 PM) Please tell all of us nerds more about orphan black Please tell me about all the realms and magic and special powers in Orphan Black. It's a weird show, easily the weirdest show I watch, I'll give you that, but it's not even close to the Dungeons and Dragons show on HBO. inb4"IT'S NOTHING LIKE D&D!!!! YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!!!"
June 8, 201312 yr QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 07:31 PM) I don't watch GoT because I'm not into fantasy Same. I don't do fantasy stuff, unless I happen to have grown up with it, ala Star Wars, Harry Potter, LoTR, but even LoTR I have seen all the movies just once but can't tell you any specific details about anything. I generally like my shows/movies to be realistic or at least plausible. I don't give a s*** if people like GoT, I have nothing against it, it's just not anything I would ever be interested in. Clearly people freak out when you use the term "nerd".
