Wraparounds were money. I played so f***ing much NHL 94/95/96/97/98.

We outlawed that s*** or the game turned boring.

(as you can tell, I really haven't played a video game since college)

Ditto. I thought about this the other day - and you're on track...video games will be played again once there are kids around and at that age. I remember playing tons of seasons of Tecmo with my Dad, and we'd always face off in the super bowl. Whoever went right to left lost every time.

That game was always sweet when you started a fight.

Two fat guys, two medium guys, and you won every time.

I always had at least one skinny guy. I loved the puck possession. He was Duncan Keith bringing it into the offensive zone, then dish it.

Interesting nugget from NCAA 2004:

"We added a lot of new features in NCAA Football 2004. But what some people may not know is that one of our biggest features in 'NCAA Football 2004' was actually removed from the game just a few days before we submitted final software for approval. Attempting to capture the mayhem that ensues following an epic home win in college football, we thought it would be a good idea to deliver an equally epic sequence of fans storming the field and ripping down the goal posts. It was in the game, it was polished, and it was ready to ship. But just before the final submission, concern over fan safety led to its removal. That was one of the more difficult messages I've had to deliver, explaining that the feature we worked so hard on all year was being removed."

The Show has it's representative with MLB: The Show 13.

I wonder which recent NBA 2k will be there; 11, 12, or 13.

What a lame excuse. Fan safety? GMAB.

Not even close. Ice Hockey is still amazing to this day and requires an incredible amount of skill to be good at.

Give me three fatties and a skinny (preferably Canadian) and I can dominate for hours.

Is there a hosting company that can host sessions on games like this? If not I would really look into building it out on AWS or something and then authenticating users with social media.

:lolhitting Knowing what you do for a living, this cracks me up.

I had a game in the late 90s called "Legends Football '98". It was for PC and absolutely rocked. You could play as teams from various eras of the NFL (1932, 1950, 1968, 1997) and you could play under the rules of those eras. I could Play the 97 Bears with the 1930s rules. Pretty awesome.

Anyone remember Baseball Simulator for NES? There was one team that had 2 players that could bunt the ball and get to second before the fielder even got to the ball. There was also another player on that team that would hit a homerun every single time he was up. You were guaranteed at least 4 runs in the first inning.

It was also really easy to just bunt when there was a runner on third because the computer would always throw the ball home. So I would just start the runner towards home and then go back to third.

Dusty Diamond's All-Star Softball was another fun NES game. It's the only game I've ever played that had choice between fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball. Slow-pitch meant no stealing and 4 outfielders.

Make it happen, ill handle the social media integration.

Anyone play Front Page Sports: Baseball Pro '96 Season back in the day on PC?

I'd spend hours upon hours doing the drafts and building teams, simulating, etc. It would take forever to simulate stuff, get to the next round, etc, s*** that would happen in minutes now. It was so addicting to draft your own teams. Didn't play many of the actual games.

OK so I forgot how many awesome sports games there were. I killed a lot of time playing both MVP 05 and 06 (the college version). Both games were just sick.

The college version was just so awesome. Better then 05, that game would have been incredible if it had the mlb license.

Though the show is close to what the MVP series was, I still to this day wonder what would a current MVP after 7 more years of growth would be like.

Also the ping was amazing

That might be the worst, least creative name of all time.

I don't mind it too much. It fits what they're trying to accomplish with the new system.

All the gamers I know hate it.

This will not play old games and there will be no more used games. Each game will be assigned to a single XBL account. Still have to pay for XBL.

I'm just going to get a Roku and be happy to live in the stone age...maybe I'll grab a PS4. Paying monthly for XBL will always kill it for me.

X-Box One is huge. I mean, physically... it's huge!
