His choke signal was his horrendously poor decision to throw that ball.

Yeah, that throw didn't make a ton of sense. They had time to run at least 4-5 more plays. They could have played it much more conservatively.

He made that same decision a few times earlier in the game. When it worked, people were lauding his incredible arm, but you can only play with fire so often against that secondary.

I think this is the least I have ever cared about a Super Bowl. All of the stupid controversies are just killing it.

Not sure if this should go here or the video games thread...

The Breaking Madden Superbowl

I was crying laughing so hard reading that. I had to stop after the midfield thing because I was too loud.

Yeah, I much prefer 6 days of talk about a south american beauty wearing potentially inappropriate clothing.

While I normally balk at people that are inexplicably super well-liked, I can't help but root for Peyton. I like to see greatness in action and he's very easy to root for.

How have I never seen this before? It might be the greatest thing on the internet.

Manning will be 4th QB to start a Super Bowl in same season he led league in pass yds & pass TD. Previous 3 all lost in the Super Bowl.

Reports: Rams owner buys 60 acres in L.A. http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nfl/story/_...and-los-angeles …?

Some think the site may not be enough land for a stadium and the required parking.

It's also GREAT leverage against St. Louis to say you already own the land. I think it cost them close to $100m. Compare that to the $500m they are trying o get out of St Louis, it's a great investment you can turn around and sell if you get what you want.

I think it's a waste anyway considering LA is already building Farmer's Field.

Well, his point is that the coverage wasn't as great as Sherman would like to think...he's trying to put the blame on himself instead of Crabtree.

Yeah, I don't think this is hard to realize. He's taking the blame, but essentially he's saying that Crabtree had Sherman beat, the play developed like the 49ers thought it would, and there was a nice sized hole for Kaep to throw the ball through, but he missed his spot badly by underthrowing it allowing an out of position Sherman to get his fingers on it and tip it.

HOF is a total joke if Brown and Bettis don't get in today.

Oh, yeah, it's incredible. You've got to read/watch them all. They crack me up.

I tried a few times to get Bois to pick me as one of the characters. Unfortunately, never worked out.

I know you are biased, but I'm not sold on Bettis. 3.9 yards per carry? Meh.

6th all time in rushing yards.

He was very durable and played for a long time, but I just don't think of him as an all time great you had to watch. The yards per carry helps attest to that. I hate to use this cliché, but Hall of Very Good.

Although to be fair, I feel the exact same way about Curtis Martin who was already voted in. That bodes well for Bettis who has a ring and is very well liked.

When is the HOF announcement?

Football HOF is so vague. No stats you can list that make you one like baseball.

When is the HOF announcement?

They announced it last night:

Michael Strahan, Andre Reed, Walter Jones, Derrick Brooks, Aeneas Williams, Claude Humphrey and Ray Guy

Aeneas Williams? Over Brown and Bettis? What a f***ing joke!

Ray Guy! Finally

I can't believe Aeneas Williams retired 10 years ago.

Finally Andre.

Well-earned.

One of my favorite Super Bowl memories is him catching the ricochet off of a giants defender helmet and taking it in for a TD
