I'm more worried about what our system would do to Garcia than Garcia himself.

Ah yes the system that brainwashed Brian Anderson to being bad at baseball, yes

That's why you trade Rios now and Garcia doesn't see the minors.

I'm predicting Garcia, Middlebrooks, and a pitching prospect to the Sox.

Middlebrooks confirmed not in this deal

I don't see him spending much time in the "Sox system". He'll likely be the RF with the big club starting August 1.

Garcia is another physical specimen who doesn't know how to f***ing hit. Why can't we, just once, get someone that understands the strike zone?

For reals.

We have a ton of folks following this topic. Peavy is gone. I loved that guy and his fiery competitive spirit. Not sure of who all we get in return. Hopefully more than one player

Hayes said Garcia is ranked 74 overall

BREAKING: Oney does not approve for Boston

Surprised somebody hasn't pinned down the whole trade yet. C'mon man! I need sleep!

Garcia is a big time talent. Give him a chance and don't project the poor play of other disappointments onto him

What a bad trade by the Tigers

I'm with you but the dude is killing Milb pitching this year. Look at his stats. It's like he has nothing left to prove.

Keep telling yourself that, Jake ;)

As presented, it sure seems that way. Garcia and "a MLB pitcher" for Iglesias only?

Overpaid badly. Blame Jhonny

They must know for a fact that Peralta is done soon.

Overreaction much? Garcia is definitely the opposite of every other OF we have drafted over the past several years. He shows a really good feel for hitting, however he likes to hit to much and needs to work on being more patient. He's no Mitchell/Hawkins type who has all the raw talent in the world, but a lack of a feel for hitting and major flaws in their swings that cause a K rate up over 30%

Brayan Villareal involved?

@alexspeier: Red Sox are including other players in the deal, lower level minor leaguers. Working on specifics... http://t.co/304AIQGJQR via @WEEI

The Red Sox might be getting a prospect too? What the...

Yeah, they must have struggled to find a cost-controlled guy they liked

Avisail Garcia has a great hit tool and is young (22) but his walk rate is bad the last thing the sox need is another f***ing free swinger, hopefully he develops like Carlos Gomez minus the speed and defense.

Anyone's lesser prospects likely as good as our top prospects now so hold judgment on this Peavy 20 starts a year easily replaced

Desperation at its finest, Illitch demands a WS before he dies

REALLY hope this gives them the flexibility to add cash in other deals IE Rios and Alexei. That would make it worth it along with Garcia who looks legit. I approve of this trade after consideration.
