July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:11 PM) If the A's are to make a deal for Peavy, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle sees outfielder Michael Choice as the potential centerpiece. Otherwise, they could add a reliever. GM Billy Beane says this is the "lowest trade inventory I've seen in years." Reactions? Agree, thats why player values are so high in trades, because there are quite a few buyers and not many players on the market. Supply and demand benefiting the Sox. Slusser can take Choice and pound sand.

"If tossing in a reliever doesn't get it done we do have a few buckets of raw sewage laying around from the clubhouse flood or perhaps I could interest Mr. Hahn in a nice prince Albert? I can use this rusty screwdriver I found behind that dumpster."
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:09 PM) My IQ has taken a big hit following Twitter live these past few days. I've just had a headache for 48 hrs straight.
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:17 PM) I've just had a headache for 48 hrs straight. Me too but probably because I havent had a Rockstar in a few days
July 30, 201312 yr Olney throwing Tyler Skaggs name into the pot now too. If that meant excluding either Owings or Davidson...no thanks.
July 30, 201312 yr This is what Buster said: Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN 11m CWS have been looking for major-league ready young players. Arizona has Tyler Skaggs. Possible match? We'll see.
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:23 PM) http://mlb.mlblogs.com/2013/07/30/d-backs-...with-white-sox/ "Third Matt Davidson" sounds like a tertiary prospect to me
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:25 PM) Skaggs and Owings would be a great start to a trade Absolutely. Not a fan of getting Holmberg back unless he's the 3rd guy but I highly doubt that would be the case. Edited July 30, 201312 yr by Rowand44
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:25 PM) Skaggs and Owings would be a great start to a trade Not concerned about Skaggs?
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:26 PM) Not concerned about Skaggs? Nope, much better than Holmberg
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:11 PM) I have a feeling it's going to happen in the next few minutes I have feeling this is going down in the next 10 seconds!
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) I have feeling this is going down in the next 10 seconds! YOU WERE WRONG
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:26 PM) Nope, much better than Holmberg Agree I was just wondering
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:19 PM) Olney throwing Tyler Skaggs name into the pot now too. If that meant excluding either Owings or Davidson...no thanks. Sox are going all LHP rotation. Skaggs is a great talent, hasn't put it together on the ML level, but his raw stuff is there. Tremendous talent and would give the Sox a further position of strength to deal from in the rotation.
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:25 PM) Skaggs and Owings would be a great start to a trade Davidson and Owens are blocked in AZ by Prado and Didi. So possible we could pry them loose for Peavy and someone?
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) YOU WERE WRONG our line-up card should be getting release so we should know what is going on, whether a trade or we just send down a pitcher
July 30, 201312 yr According to twitter it's now confirmed that the dbacks are talking to the Sox about Peavy. YAY!!!!!!!!! Edited July 30, 201312 yr by Rowand44
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) our line-up card should be getting release so we should know what is going on, whether a trade or we just send down a pitcher I am sure they will include everyone. It's when they get scratched is the time to get excited
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:26 PM) Not concerned about Skaggs? I'm not all that enamored with Skaggs. He's a young lefty with good upside...but like I said...if it meant not getting Davidson...no thanks.
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:29 PM) Davidson and Owens are blocked in AZ by Prado and Didi. So possible we could pry them loose for Peavy and someone? Let's just say that if the end of the world happens and Hahn gets Skaggs, Davidson, Owens and Taillon for Peavy, Rios and Ramirez, then Hahn has a job for life here.
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:32 PM) Let's just say that if the end of the world happens and Hahn gets Skaggs, Davidson, Owens and Taillon for Peavy, Rios and Ramirez, then Hahn has a job for life here. Ha! Why not Adams and Martinez from St. Louis too?
July 30, 201312 yr QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:32 PM) I am not sure what the fascination with Holmberg is around here. Is it because he was a former Sox farmhand? People like names they know I guess. His 6.2 K/9 in AA doesn't really excite me. I agree. He's going to be a OK rotation starter, not a ton of upside.
