August 9, 201312 yr Luke Jackson made his first start in Double A last night and went 6 innings, only allowing 4 hits, no runs and had 6 K's. Rougned Odor also homered and is hitting .310/.375/.690 in 7 games as a 19 year old in AA. Yes please.

The Rangers knew the asking price 10 days ago, if there really were "not close" to acquiring him, then why claim him and go through the trouble? They obviously want him, it's just a matter of finding a middle ground. They may have claimed him to block him from going to another team.

August 9, 201312 yr X-posted in the Dunn thread: I think this makes it less likely that a Rios deal happens. Hahn now has the rest of the month to try to reduce payroll via Dunn--he doesn't have to cave in and take a lame offer from Texas for Rios.

If he trades him over the winter instead of just letting him go, the Sox will have paid $4 million for the prospect or prospects they receive. And given the reported asking price, unless it comes down significantly, I don't think he's going to be getting traded over the winter, either.

I heard an interview with Robin, he doesn't know what is going on with Rios' situation and doesn't want to know unless he is being moved. If the line up wasn't posted it could have been because of Viciedo who was scratched, and the team said there would be an explaination at game time, whatever that means.
