Getting Tired of Waiting

Featured Replies

Starting to get a bad feeling that nothing of consequence is going to happen here and Hahn has been overplaying his hand. Atleast they are a game away from being the second overall pick.

Deadline isn't til Wednesday at 4 ET. That's four days away. No reason to panic.

You would make for a terrible gm.

You're getting tired of waiting - we're all getting tired of waiting.

More importantly... I hope that Texas, St. Louis, Oakland, Arizona, etc are getting tired of waiting as well.

Hopefully it's just driving up the return we get.

Boring as nails but hell, it's fine... We can be a little more bored together until Wednesday.

I'll be bored with you guys. It is boring, but hopefully in the end it'll be worth it.

If what GMs say the pricetags on Peavy, Norris, Lee and Santana hold, Wednesday is going to be very quiet.

Could be waiting a while

Right now I'd settle for trading Rios for whatever Hahn can get (I'm sure I'll be pissed if Sox have to pay a lot of his salary while he's doing the Rios thing for another team), Lindstrom and Crain (if it's possible to deal a guy on the DL) for whatever Hahn can get and a trade of Dunn again for whatever Hahn can get.

For the life of me, I can't see getting a very productive return on any of those guys. Hopefully I'm mistaken.

I wonder if we'll all be surprised and Paulie would approve a trade to a contender and will be dealt to an NL team. I don't want to see him on a Central Division team or something like that.

I always liked Peavy and if we keep him, maybe our front office will try harder to get some offense via free agency this offseason, figuring our starting pitching is robust.

robust.

Whoa there Mr. Vocabulary.

Whoa there...

I'm tired of waiting too.

But a week from now, I'll be going through twitter/mlbtraderumors/etc. withdrawal and will miss trading season.

And wonder how Alex Rios is still on the team.

Generally, selling teams cave on their demands or before the 31st because something is better than nothing.. But we won't because we don't have to trade any of these guys except for Lindstrom, and he won't bring anything anyway. And I think teams know that and one will cave on the 31st...at least I hope so.

IN particular, St Louis has to cave for Alexei...they have to do something to upgrade that position.

On the bright side of things...

The TPSM campaign is alive and well - we're almost in the #2 draft slot now!!

God damn Houston is too good at losing! I want Rodon!

I am starting to wonder about Hahn. Whats the hold up? I understand wanting to wait for the best possible deal for guys like Peavy and Rios until Wednesday. However, we should have shipped off guys like Alexei, Lindstrom and Keppinger by now. So far the "Hahn sitting on his hands theory" is looking more and more true.

Time is running out to clean house.....

I'm fully anticipating being disappointed come wednesday. Maybe one deal...happens...but it'll have the same effect as the Thornton deal IMO. Bring your s*** back Jake....

I'm pretty confident Peavy will be moved...and probably Lindstrom too...as for anyone else...I dunno

I haven't logged on here for a while. To be honest, the current crop of players bore the hell out of me.

I am looking at this trade deadline and seeing all the rumors of Peavy, Rios, Lindstrom, Ramirez, etc. and the more trades that do happen, the happier I will be.

This has a potential to spike my interest in the team again.

I sincerely do hope something occurs.

That's where I'm at too.

I just hope they don't get to November and December and really regret something about late July. But will we ever know what they could have done? Probably not, and they'll lie about it anyway.

We can be sure that know-it-alls around here will be acting like they knew every trade offer we had and passed up on

and then the screaming will ensue from Greg and Marty

I don't think I'll be screaming if we are able to move Rios and Dunn.

I'll probably be concerned if the Sox send a lot of money with those guys because I believe that will affect our future payroll.

I would not be mad if this happened. ...

Rios- Traded for 2 prospects of any kind (good prospects, bad prospects dnt matter) and sending NO MONEY with him.

Dunn - See Rios trade.

Peavy - Trade him for one good prospect, one prospect of any kind and send NO MONEY.

So I am not asking for much.

If we trade Sale or Reed I'd like 2-3 STUDS in return please.
