A couple of starts ago, he had an ERA over 3.

Maybe erratic isn't the right word, but he wasn't 1968 Gibson/Drysdale/McLain either.

That was his 4th start of the season. In the last 6 starts he has given up 7 earned runs total with 58 K in 42 IP. First 3 starts he had 25 K in 20.2 IP giving up 4 earned runs. He has had one awful start surrounded by 9 starts of sheer dominance we rarely see nowadays.

Adrian Beltre is awesome.

He's also one of the first human beings to offer me dip. I was the bat boy for the Mariners during a Mariners/Sox spring training game and he offered me dip and I looked at him like he was crazy because I was so shocked. I was 12 or 13 at the time.

He started in the minors at like, 15 or 16. I would bet that he was dipping then.

Brian Kenny will love this: #DBacks’ McCarthy drawing trade interest despite 1-10 record. ERA is 5.38, but FIP is 3.99. Plus: 80Ks, 18 BB.

McCarthy owed about $4.5M for rest of season. #DBacks figure to make multiple trades before July 31.
