His turn only comes up one time in the next 17 games due to conveniently-scheduled off days, so it's not a major hit to the Yankees

It really is more they HAD to do something. A lot of pitchers use pine tar, or some other substance for grip.

I don't think it's a mystery why Alburqurque's had like 3 different surgeries. The guy's throwing motion is absolutely awful.

There are several other guys currently on this roster that had to go as well:

 

Dunn, Viciedo, Flowers, De Aza, Ramirez, just to name a few.

 

 

Umm.....Viciedo deserved a full year of playing time before that determination was made. Trading him for what? Would have made zero sense, other than a change of scenery type of thing for a similar player.

 

He's what, 24 or 25? And he wasn't even 100% for most of last season.

You can bet Clay B and Lester will be checked by Girardi next series.
