I just don't get it. If you want to gamble on Cleto's stuff and have him work on it, then you should be hiding him at the back of the bullpen. We won a game by 14 runs the other day and he wasn't put in. Yet he's continuously getting put in in high-leverage situations when the only good stat he has this year is a fluky ERA. (Granted he's been a touch unlucky today but he's been very lucky other days)

Cleto a tad wild but he's one of the last bullpen guys I'd hate on right now.

This defensive shift stuff makes no sense to me. Why do it some at bats but not others?

Very hittable high 95 MPH fastball.

Webb's got to be throwing harder than that to be a closer. Even if the gun is off 2 MPH, he's going to get killed at 97 MPH in that location with an 0-1 count.

 

Of course, Ventura's continued issues with bullpen management, hard to blame anyone for coming into that situation and failing to come through.

That has been the case in many games so far in 2014.

Cleto might throw 97 mph, but his 8/4 BB/K ratio is horrible. He's one of many on this team that probably belongs in AAA right now.

He's thrown harder than that at pts this year too but ya those numbers aren't very good.
