Johnson just doesn't belong on our starting staff. His fastball sucks, he can't get his slider in the zone. His control is terrible.

It's amazing to me they're adding him. One of my favorite pitchers to see the Sox hit against the last 3 years.

I don't know where these reports of him around 92-94 came from. He throws 89-92 consistantly, and if he can't command his breaking stuff he's going to get shelled, as we see.

Last year PITCHf/x had him averaging 92.5 and touching 96. Hasn't been close to that this year.

Seems to be getting no extension on his fastball. Not only has his fastball been short a few mph, but he has about the worst command of his fastball I've ever seen by a Sox starter.

If it makes you feel better, the great Matt Davidson is 0-3 with a strikeout and hitting .167.

The good news is the game isn't out of hand. The bad news is at least 7 1/3 innings of White Sox bullpen. The over looks like a lock tonight.

It is dire. No one is giving up competent bullpen guys, and the Sox need several. Hahn's only choice is to buy as many lottery tickets as he can and hope one or two of them somehow beat the odds and pan out.

We've had some real s***ty bullpens before, but at least they threw DAMN strikes...this is absolutely ridiculous.

What sort of message does it send to the team when a guy like Beckham comes up and immediately starts the first two games, including after an 0-4 3k performance? It's a s*** message. God, why are we "showcasing" a guy the entire league knows sucks?
