FWIW Flowers did catch him in LA (2nd to last start) and he was fine.

 

Hope Danks keeps it and continues to be one of the better starters around.

Can't start Nieto two games in a row because actually putting the ball in play some how and getting on base a couple times a game is frowned upon in this line up.. Striking out is the only way to go..

We went through this last year too...they arent going to make a change unless Flower's shows zero signs of life in quite a few games.

Danks showing some life

Danks throwing a lot harder tonight. Guess it's the heat.

Day off did not help the offense 1-2-3

The WSox need to start getting more power from everyone besides the 1B/DH combo. 8 games and counting since someone besides Dunn/PK/Abreu has homered

Eh, Nieto is no contact machine himself.

 

Nieto K% - 35.1%

Flowers K% - 42.9%

 

Nieto's is horrible but considering he's never played above A+ it's not surprising. Flowers, on the other hand, is due for Charlotte or another organization but I think the White Sox brass really, really likes the guy. I do believe the pitching staff loves Flowers as well.

 

Get us rolling again RV23!!

 

Nieto is a guy they are mixing and matching as much as possible to get him as many favorable match ups as they can because they don't want to bury the kid. They know he shouldn't be on a major league roster today, but to keep him in the organization, they know they have to carry him. He isn't going to start every day, or even semi-regularly for the simple fact that he isn't ready to be a starter yet.
