June 24, 201411 yr Well deserved! Tim Anderson had to be right there with J.P. Crawford as well, but we could only have two reps anyway.
July 1, 201411 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 04:56 PM) Knee surgery for Montas. https://twitter.com/jnorris427/status/483715155608358912 Well thats a bummer. Don't really care about the futures game either, sounds like what was on the way to being Montas' breakout season is going to come to a screeching hault
July 1, 201411 yr Would have liked to have watch him during the Futures Game. Wonder if we can replace him at all.
July 1, 201411 yr QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 10:22 PM) Would have liked to have watch him during the Futures Game. Wonder if we can replace him at all. He's already been replaced with another guy on a different team.
July 1, 201411 yr I'm not sure of another international player of interest for us that would have been a fit anyways. Olacio maybe?
July 13, 201411 yr Micah Johnson alert (coming up to bat) in the Futures Game. Streaming for free on mlb.com.
July 13, 201411 yr Author Micah Johnson beats out a routine ground ball to SS, but the ump blows the call. And of course, they never even mentioned Micah up at the plate and didn't speak about him at all. They had a long conversation about Clayton Kershaw that overshadowed his AB.
July 13, 201411 yr Author Micah hits a chopper to the right of the pitching mound, nearly beats it out. My god he is stupid fast. If he bunted 100 times a season, I bet he could hit .450 or better in those ABs.
July 13, 201411 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 06:20 PM) Johnson was 3.72 to 1B. Is there any site that has that for other speedsters? Like what is time for guys like Reyes, Hamilton, Gordon? I'd love to see some side-by-side comparisons.
July 13, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 06:20 PM) Johnson was 3.72 to 1B. I wonder what he drag bunt time is. I think Billy Hamilton's is in the 3.3's.
July 13, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 06:24 PM) Is there any site that has that for other speedsters? Like what is time for guys like Reyes, Hamilton, Gordon? I'd love to see some side-by-side comparisons. Here is an article. Says Hamilton was clocked at 3.3 on a drag bunt, but some don't believe it. A scout said the fastest he ever clocked was Brett Gardner on a 3.5 bunt to 1st. Later in the article a scout says the fastest he has ever timed to first on a swing was Billy Hamilton at 3.8. So if Micah was actually clocked at 3.74 on that play in which he swung, he essentially has Billy Hamilton speed, at least acceleration wise. Hamilton may be better running the bases or longer distances maybe. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-he...ter-hes-hitting

July 14, 201411 yr A Micah scouting video uploaded not too long ago by BA. Of course, the dude made a blasphemous mistake by call him a Cubs prospect.

July 15, 201411 yr QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 09:24 AM) A Micah scouting video uploaded not too long ago by BA. Of course, the dude made a blasphemous mistake by call him a Cubs prospect. Honestly not the best video of Micah there. Looked horribly fooled on most swings.
