February 5, 201511 yr QUOTE (Stev-o @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 10:40 AM) Remember Felix Pie? Jerome Walton? Gary Scott? Prospects are just prospects, until they're proven commodities. Baseball history is chock-full with sensational "AAAA-players"; too good for AAA, not good enough for MLB. At the same time, all of those good players in the majors were prospects once too. Some of their top guys will flame out, but it's OK to say that the Cubs have a very good minor league system and it should translate to the MLB level to some degree.

Those that are "putting then" in the WS, or even playoff contention tis year are insane.
February 5, 201511 yr QUOTE (Stev-o @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 10:48 AM) Those that are "putting then" in the WS, or even playoff contention tis year are insane. I think they'll be in playoff contention. They'll fall short, but it will be a really nice building year for them.
February 5, 201511 yr Those that are "putting then" in the WS, or even playoff contention tis year are insane i rather be insane, drinking my sox kool aid and cheering on the sox, instead of constantly b****ing at sox management for not doing enuf...... then again, i still might b**** about that.
February 5, 201511 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) I think they'll be in playoff contention. They'll fall short, but it will be a really nice building year for them. They won't finish .500!
February 5, 201511 yr QUOTE (Stev-o @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 03:56 PM) They won't finish .500! I smell a signature bet. Loser should sport a Cubs logo for a period of time.
February 5, 201511 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 03:58 PM) I smell a signature bet. Loser should sport a Cubs logo for a period of time. I can't do that, I'd rather wear a dress than anything Cubzzz related.
February 6, 201511 yr QUOTE (Stev-o @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) I can't do that, I'd rather wear a dress than anything Cubzzz related. So then you're really not all that confident in your statements about the cubs 2015 record...
February 6, 201511 yr Andrew Marchand @AndrewMarchand 2h2 hours ago A scout compared Moncada to Robinson Cano http://es.pn/1xAp9yF Another said he would be the No. 1 pick if he were in June draft
February 6, 201511 yr QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 10:38 PM) So then you're really not all that confident in your statements about the cubs 2015 record... I don't take chances when it comes to the possibility of "wearing" Cubs gear. Besides, if I agreed to your wager, you'd have to be rooting for the Cubs. You don't want to do that, do you? February 9, 201511 yr QUOTE (Stev-o @ Feb 9, 2015 -> 01:43 PM) The Sox NEED to sign Moncada...he's a perfect fit! he would fill a big hole... eventually... if he's as good as they say.
February 9, 201511 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 9, 2015 -> 02:15 PM) He's going to the Padres, they are officially out of control source? If so, they're going all Blue Jays over there. We know how that works out.

February 9, 201511 yr Well Rick has to do something crazy now, can't let the Padres steal his headlines.

February 10, 201511 yr The Rays and the Padres are the two-dark horse teams, although anything's possible with SD these days, seemingly. TB desperately needs some type of "win" for that fan base after all the disheartening losses of coaching/front office staff/talent from the roster. Edited February 10, 201511 yr by caulfield12
February 10, 201511 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 9, 2015 -> 12:35 PM) Well Rick has to do something crazy now, can't let the Padres steal his headlines. I dare you to sign Moncada, Hahn. Double dare!
February 10, 201511 yr QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Feb 10, 2015 -> 06:41 AM) I dare you to sign Moncada, Hahn. Double dare! like that would help. however very creative thinking.
February 10, 201511 yr At the cost we are talking about here ($80 million + no real international signings for two years) to me it isn't worth it.
February 10, 201511 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2015 -> 08:01 AM) At the cost we are talking about here ($80 million + no real international signings for two years) to me it isn't worth it. Moncada basically has to be Mike Trout to justify it.
February 10, 201511 yr QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 10, 2015 -> 08:19 AM) Moncada basically has to be Mike Trout to justify it. yeah, I was thinking of Cano or Arod (because he is listed as an IF), but the idea is still the same. For that price you HAVE to get a superstar out of it, and even then, you are getting zero surplus value out of him.
