The committee has shown little respect for Carolina, so I agree they might not even jump Ohio State. I think a two loss Pac 12 champion Stanford has a chance to pass OSU, if one of the top two stumble this weekend.

It's going to be a huge meeting for the committee. Everyone thinks this team is in or this team is in. Nobody has a clue. Even Bama is taking heat currently for only beating one ranked team (#23).

Also the reason UNC isn't getting respect is they scheduled 2 FCS teams. That's a horrible precedent they want to get away from.

And they played Illinois, so 3 FCS teams really.

I would have sworn they were going to go hard after Chip.

Illinois loses Alex Golesh (recruiting coordinator) to Iowa State....

Well Ryan Cubit was our most recent RC but yea, big blow to the staff. Not shocked at all by this though.

Oh my bad, I thought Golesh was the RC. He was at one point correct? I know he had huge influence in recruiting.

Yea he was, Ryan took over last year so that Golesh could take a step away from the admin work involved in that role and focus more on recruiting/coaching. That role is a lot of planning and stuff then it is just straight recruiting.

He's been one of our better recruiters though.

Uninspiring hire sure, but he seems to understand that you just let the players play, which the two previous coaches were too "smart" to realize. It's USC, he won't have a problem recruiting.

USC hated it when they hired Caroll and that was a stroke of genius. Was interesting to me how Miles could go from gone to kept in a matter of a game (with a decision getting made in the 3rd quarter). Kind of crazy to me how irrational people can be.

I doubt UNC was expecting to be in this position when they made their schedule.

So it's Helton for USC?

That's strike two for Colin Cowherd. For a guy who thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, he sure looks dumb often.

Its still their schedule and they have a horrible loss. We will see this season what the committee values.

Not to compare one-for-one, but OU has a horrible loss, too. Now everybody is on that bandwagon. I guess my point is bad losses can be forgiven if you have good wins more recently. UNC doesn't have those now, but if they beat Clemson it becomes a tough argument. Maybe more similar to Ohio State last year, who had a horrible loss and only had to play in the Big Ten the rest of the way.

Didn't a couple teams back out, and that's why UNC had to schedule FCS? I don't think they wanted this schedule.

To me, if you look as impressive as UNC has since the opening game and beat the undisputed #1 team on a neutral field, you absolutely should make the playoffs.

Surprised Herman stayed at Houston.

They're rumored to be trying to join the Big 12, so I have to imagine they sold him on that.

Oh what a joy that will be to get bullied around by texas.

Why would Big 12 want another Texas team?

SIU fired their Head Football Coach. One of my former players plays WR down there

I think any conference should like a texas team. They provide reach into a huge recruiting market and add a lot of money.

The Big Ten is the best conference in the country right now, at least judging by rankings.

Its only going to be one more year most likely, right about when Charlie Strong gets canned.
