Danks did crank up a fastball up to 84.

 

He's basically Jamie Moyer at this point. I remember he was actually throwing 88-91 pretty consistently at the end of last season.

Agreed completely, they looked awful in nearly every game that was on the last few weeks.

I cut Danks in my 2nd OOTP 16 run with the Sox when he had an ERA north of 6 in July. JR wasn't happy eating the 27 million but we picked up Sweaty Freddy off the scrap heap and he gave us 100 innings with a 4.40 ERA. FWIW my Sox finished 84-79 and missed the playoffs by 3 games.

Danks oughta just retire.

Venezuelan "Junior" Guerra, who apparently didn't pitch ANYWHERE from 2008-2012, then was in Mexico in 2012 and disappeared again pitched two innings with no hits/walks and 2 K's.

Very important to get that last game of trying not to get hurt before the season starts.

At least when JD gets rocked in an actual game that matters we can't continue the "oh it's just spring training, it doesn't count" excuse.

Danks has been lousy the entire spring. I realize that these are exhibitions but he has been just awful. If he keeps getting his ass kicked once the season opens, I'm wondering how long it will take before the White Sox make a change. If the White Sox release Danks it will be interesting to see if anybody picks him up.
