We were also pretty unfortunate that Greene has turned into hot garbage after starting the year so well....20 ER in his last 8 IP or something like that.

 

The first couple of innings were really shaky, we ended up with 3 official errors and made a number of other mental mistakes which could/would/should cost you the ballgame against a David Price when the margin of error is much thinner.

 

Micah really needs to tighten things up defensively, or they need to start replacing him late in games (with a lead) with Beckham.

 

Finally, solid start from Samardjiza after struggling early in the game. In some of his bad starts, he really fought his slider command and got behind in counts, which allowed the opposition to key in on his FB. Good bounceback win for him after the weird BALT start in front of 0 fans.

They won one, might as well win with Sale going tomorrow.

with Sale and Quintana going the next 2 games I am really hoping for a sweep. I'm sure that would be an amazing confidence booster going forward.

That ball was over the fence to start with and Melky did a helluva job getting his glove on it, Actually it went right in his glove but popped out on impact.

 

There's a reason why you don't see too many spectacular HR robbing catches at the Cell even though the fence height is pretty ideal for those kind of catches and that's because of how the fence is. Since the picnic area is there ,the wall isn't flat but there's the chain link fence then the padding on the top which prevents fielders from getting much height on their jump. Usually their shoulder hits the padding and their body goes into the fencing which bends them and prevents them from getting that arm extension .

Unfortunate Greene has turned into hot garbage? Your true colors show once again.

Things were looking pretty damn gloomy through the first few. This is probably what it felt like for people in NYC when the city was preemptively shut down ahead of the blizzard in January that ended up unleashing the wrath of 2" - 6" accumulation by the time it was over.

The only way to rob a HR at the Cell is to stay about a foot away from the fence when you jump and go straight up but that's really hard to do because the OFer is usually drifting towards the fence and his momentum when he jumps takes him right into that situation I described .
