You're acting like he's the only left-handed hitter who gets this shift put on him. Not even close. Rizzo gets it too. So does Ortiz and a lot of other good left handed hitters. Changing their approach to hit the other way would likely take away more than it would give.

 

Unless you're Mike Moustakas who has learned to hit the other way and also is 5 for 5 in bunting hits against the shift.

Ventura had marginal qualifications; he was brought in to be a Cooper/Williams sycophant - to do what Cooper and Williams tell him to do. He's probably doing that job well.

Steverson was Hahn's lone hire, the lone non-insider, so Hahn doesn't want to give up on him.

Kind of weird he pinch hit for Flowers. Not that it makes much of a difference but there's always a chance Tyler runs into one to tie the game up since he's big lumox but Shuck won't hit a HR . Only power on the bench is Beckham and Soto and neither was used . Rosenthal is RH but if Ventura thinks the Sox get 3 straight hits to tie it he's crazy. Have to think HR in that situation even if Rosenthal gives up very few.

Anyone else notice the pitch Molina hit, Robertson tilted his head to the left? Maybe subliminally tipped what was coming on the next pitch.

No wonder pitchers have the edge these days. Pitch after pitch Lynn goes for the outside corner mavbe the high strike also . But with the help of the ump he was getting a lot of strikes called there.

 

I just wonder why a hitter who can guess a FB on the outer half is coming doesn't move closer to the plate during the windup. Yes i know that wouldn't give a guy time to dig in that back foot but still gives you a better chance to barrel it up.

Another mental midget performance. But maybe teams will start to look at Danks before the trade deadline.

Is there a reason why Robin brought in Duke was brought in against a bunch of guys with good numbers against him? Wong and Grichuk not included but Holiday, Peralta, and Hayward all had good numbers against him.

bevington would be better
