His problem is that he needs to make strong contact and maintain a near 300 average to have value.

 

He sucks right now but he's also 24 with tools and if he was hitting 320/350/500 in Charlotte he'd be everyone's favorite. But he's getting MLB experience and you never want to write a 24 year with under 1000 MLB PA off that has the pedigree that Avi does.

 

He's the least of this team's long term issues IMO. Yea he's not currently part of the solution but he's also not making jack s*** and can easily be jettisoned if they are suddenly looking at contending this year or next year.
