The whole idea behind "cancel culture" is dumb.  The same people who are screaming this in response to things like being a racist and committing treason against the nation are the same ones who cancel

Looks dope, but the trailer wasn't overwhelming.

Loved watching Donnie Yen kick some ass.

OK PC police. Does it make you feel important because you're PC bro? That was only two characters. I'm just saying they don't get points for female characters, nor should they.

Not that the female lead is a problem, but they did just have one. I did get a sense that they may have been forcing it in that regard, but Daisy Ridley was great so who cares.

Honestly, that's such a weird thing to say.

OK fine. It just seems like overcorrecting, but I'm not going to pick this fight.

Well, I see your point. I think that has 100% to do with it being a Disney operation.

Eh, here's the thing. Even in the original movies (Ep 4-6), while it was certainly male-dominated, the lead female (Leia) had some badass traits. Now Ridley, who is kind of part of a dual-lead so far. Now we have what appears to be a truly lead female character. I'd say it's in-line with the evolutionary arc.

Speaking of bros. You already know that a han solo will be a part of the movie. That darth vader and a bunch of dude characters will be in it. Having a female lead character makes perfect sense. It opens them up to love story angles and some balance.

It should have nothing to do with PC.

XII? Do you mean VIII?

Oops. I actually meant VII. Forgot my roman numerals for a minute there.

I bought the new one right when it came out and watched it again in the privacy of my own home and I liked it even more.

Is there any background on where this one fits into the overall story arc? I am kind of confused

All I know is it's before New Hope.

Right, I was hoping there was a site that gave me more background, I'm not completely up on the canon.

Oh, I don't want to know more than that yet. I'm sure wiki/reddit could float that boat.

From one of the movies and books, they reference that many Bothans die trying to get this information. It's a source of pride among that planet. I wonder if they work that in or just go the human route.

Ill look. Also which death star is this?

The first.

You would think after becoming the republic they would have made a priority to create a death star that can blow up death stars.

The Bothans are the Second Death Star.

This one is the First Death Star. Theoretically, Rogue One could end with the plans being handed to Leia, right before the events that started A New Hope...

I'm pretty sure the Bothans are the first one with Leia discussing it in the first movie. I'll need to back and look at the books.

Ah gotcha, that makes more sense, im reading up on it now.

The Bothans reference was ROTJ, the second Death Star.

Yep, they stole the plans in the Battle of Korriban

So while reading up on the Battle of Korriban, it states the most valuable sith artifact in the tombs was a large hooded statue, is it possible this is the figure that was shown in Rogue One?
