Nova is not an improvement in this rotation....

Decent bounce back candidate if he's healthy though. Could have a nice year and earn a QO at the end of the season. Especially with next year's free agent pitching class.

Screw Eithier and the like, if the Sox go after Nova, put a little more in the pot and get Brett Gardner. He was awful the second half last season but he was hurt.

He's an older Eaton with a huge bald spot.

He's still not better than anybody in the rotation currently, imo.

But what would you have to give up to get him. The issue of trading for him when Sox have more holes to upgrade before starting pitching makes no sense

It would indicate to me a starting pitcher or 2 is being sent to another team.

If they trade for him, likely means Q or Johnson is gone

Hopefully Johnson then.

That article doesn't even say that the White Sox are interested. Just that they have been in the past. It's all speculative.

Can't see him getting alot in return

Interesting fodder, if that.

Interesting that it says Sox were interested in Chavez

Was interested until I saw who was reporting it

I can't imagine Hahn committing substantial resources to starting pitching this year.

Going to need another starter after we trade Q right? ;)

That is why a guy like Nova sort of makes sense. If they trade starting pitching, they will need more.

If like, Jason Coats could land us Nova, wouldn't you do it?

Yep, and then get the best deal for Erik Johnson if you hold on to Q.

Four letter first and last-names have done well on sox, fyi. Jose Abreu, Joey Cora. Good sign, imo.

Abreu is 5 letters...

there is 4 sp's that is a guarantee. the 5 sp is still up for grasp with the WM starting next week, where many unknown trades will happen.

but i think you may be right there, the question is which ones will be traded.

Should have signed Paul Bako instead of Avila
