December 8, 201510 yr Deal around Castro reportedly. Does not involve Gardner. I'm gonna guess Eovaldi.
December 8, 201510 yr I was under the impression that Castro was one of the possible pieces to bring in some ML ready talent. I would be surprised if they received a prospect for him.
December 8, 201510 yr QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 05:19 PM) Deal around Castro reportedly. Does not involve Gardner. I'm gonna guess Eovaldi. Not a bad guess. The cubs are rumored to be looking for another pitcher so its possible.
December 8, 201510 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) Think maybe Nova is involved? I think the Cubs want controllable pitching. Nova is a free agent after this year.
December 9, 201510 yr If this trade happens are the Yanks going to plug Castro in at 2B and use Refsnyder as the utility?
December 9, 201510 yr @Buster_ESPN: Yankees and Cubs moving closing on a trade of Starlin Castro, according to sources.
December 9, 201510 yr QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 06:56 PM) Don't want to make this a Cubs slurp fest, but it's quite impressive watching a Front Office with a very succinct plan and executing on it. Who lucked into a bunch of solid guys. They did committ to losing for half a decade which is tough to do since they're the cubs and they should have money to spend. December 9, 201510 yr Author QUOTE (bjm676 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:05 PM) Adam Warren to Cubs Warren blowssss
December 9, 201510 yr QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 01:09 AM) Cubs got robbed...I love it. Which makes me think they have something huge in mind
December 9, 201510 yr Everyone on here has been hating on Castro for the past few months saying he has no value and now everyone thinks he's a good player? I don't get it.
December 9, 201510 yr That trade literally makes no sense for the Cubs... Cahill is better than Warren, so Warren is useless, and why would they acquire another infielder if they just traded one away and signed another one? I don't get it.

I don't think they had a backup infielder. Ryan is a solid backup with plus defense.
December 9, 201510 yr QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 01:15 AM) I don't think they had a backup infielder. Ryan is a solid backup with plus defense. Baez
December 9, 201510 yr QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:15 PM) I don't think they had a backup infielder. Ryan is a solid backup with plus defense. Baez? Alcantara? Coghlan? Am I missing something?
December 9, 201510 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:16 PM) Baez They're most likely going to move him.
December 9, 201510 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:16 PM) Baez Nah. With upside like that you start him, trade him, or play him in minors. Especially since he's still young. I bet he gets traded though. Edited December 9, 201510 yr by soxfan2014
December 9, 201510 yr QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 02:16 AM) Baez? Alcantara? Coghlan? Am I missing something? LaStella
December 9, 201510 yr They basically traded Castro for Zobrist. My guess is they still add an outfielder.
December 9, 201510 yr QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:19 PM) They basically traded Castro for Zobrist. My guess is they still add an outfielder. And a mid-rotation starter I think.
December 9, 201510 yr QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:16 PM) Baez? Alcantara? Coghlan? Am I missing something? Trading Baez, Coghlan is an OF, but La Stella... I'm confused as well.
