Trump, $1.5 million per speech...Bill Clinton $750,000

Nobody wants to hear Hillary Clinton speeches, that's why they're remarkably cheaper compared to the big guns.

Although I'm not 100% sure you're going to get accurate numbers. In all likelihood, his accountants write them off as donations to The Trump Foundation or other charities.

Lost in the economics of the speeches is many of these are fundraising or publicity speeches for the organization that hires them.

Right after this election we need to have a national discussion on how we can reward better candidates.

Get rid of cable news and get rid of the 3 year election cycle.

I'm almost to the point where I wish people would have more apathy towards federal politics. If people stopped caring no one would watch political TV, the media wouldn't cover politics 24/7/365 like it does, and the election cycle would be more reasonable (6 months, max).

If political coverage was more C-Span than Fox/MSNBC, we'd all be better off.

Yes please.

Fear the unknown, fear the terrorists, fear Muslims/foreigners/Middle Easterners.

Trump hasn't changed at all for the general election. He's just another version of George Wallace, Huey and Earl Long, Joe McCarthy...it's just that ordinary Americans admire his business success story (forget the origins not being Horatio Alger-esque) and his non-political correctness.

It's like Bulworth mixed with House of Cards and a little of Scandal for good measure.

Trump is now being briefed on security since we are this far along in the process, right? It's fairly terrifying for him to still be making this sort of crazy, unsubstantiated claims about global security.

NOTHING has been proven yet.

Hillary said it was terrorism too. Do you really think people being briefed on national security don't know this yet? There's literally nothing "crazy" about what he said considering it lines up perfectly with what we do know.

He said it got blown up. That has been proven to be false. Not sure what is unclear to you. You sound like one of the supporters that will believe anything he says.

Um, the current public theory of U.S. officials is that it was taken down by a bomb, but okay.

Buehrle how do you feel about Trump now that he's decidedly not 'getting money out of politics' but is instead pursuing standard GOP fundraising?

I imagine it's the politcal candidate version of "doesn't matter had sex!". "Doesn't matter got nominated!" is the theme for many Trump (and Bernie) supporters

Obama made this flipflop really easily, and no one cared.

I'm not sure why trump has decided to attack gov Martinez of new Mexico, she's the head of the Republican governors association

Because he tries to double down retiring fire at anyone who disses him.

Has been trading barbs with Liz Warren all week, calling her "goofy" and Pocahontas, which obviously won't help his standing with Native American voters at 8/10ths of 1% of the US population.

You'd think with the GOP conceding Romney's 47% he would think twice, but I guess he imagines it's making him even more popular somehow.

And yeah, since the 30+ GOP governors control the election machines/get out the vote apparatus in those states, pretty unwise.

Congrats to the Illinois House Democrats on passing a fiscally sound budget. Keep up the good work!! Over to you John Cullerton. Like I have said for years in here. You want your pensions, no problem, but there is no money left for your precious social programs. What are the expected revenues? And what are the outlays passed in their bill? Can't fight math asshole

Transparency....This clown's middle name. But don't say anything lest you be called a racist. Worst pile of s*** ever to occupy that office.

Limbaugh has it right. You can't criticize Obama or you are racist. Hillary won't be criticized in her eight years cause she is the first female president.

That sure hasn't stopped anyone from criticizing Obama.

The only 'first' we need to worry about is electing the first president to do the damn job right. First women/black/hispanic/trans/etc don't mean s*** if they suck at the job.
