Obviously not all team meetings are closed door. Which is also why you have no idea if he was there in those either. But when the team is meeting and the press is there he was in the picture.

 

Even if he's not a distraction it's a bad precedent to set and they were right in going forwar establishing team rules around it.

And those are two guys who were here last year and used to it. Maybe the new guys came in and thought it was a distraction.

Plus nobody is going to come out and say "good, it was weird he was here." He's probably a good kid and it's like having a locker room manager around, but it sets a bad precedent and clearly there was a reason management did something now.

I'm sure some Nationals players struggled being themselves/censoring themselves with a kid around all the time, too.

 

If that is the case, then you would agree, KW not changing the policy to totally ban kids is a half assed jesture, correct? The thing is while players didn't have their kids around as much as Drake, there are 25 guys and someone will bring his kid one day, another guy the next, plus with bat boys, and Make a Wish etc. there are kids around the Sox clubhouse every day whether Drake LaRoche is there or not.

Kids being around isn't a distraction. None of them should be around 100% of the time. Adam LaRoche has an employer. He doesn't get to make the rules. He was given the mandate from the employer and he decided to take his ball and go home. Good f***ing riddance.

I love how some people want to use Fielder and Griffey as examples of why this should be allowed. Those are two kids who ended up f***ing HATING their fathers.

No I don't. If he is a distraction why would it be OK if he still is a distraction only less of the time? It makes no sense.

Doesn't this almost make LaRoche look worse? There was an agreement. Things can change. They had a discussion, apparently a week ago, and LaRoche continued to bring his son into the clubhouse every day. Another conversation is had, and LaRoche picks up his ball and goes home? Circumstances change in business every day.

Adam said that he doesn't believe in school. He thinks that Drake will learn growing up in a baseball clubhouse and taking standardized tests instead. I disagree. I think he needs to be socialized and be with kids his own age instead of growing up around adults in a baseball clubhouse. I didn't think this stance was that controversial. This entire situation is so weird. Why would anyone want a 14 year old kid around their workplace constantly? I can't believe anyone is siding with LaRoche on this.
