I'm incredibly surprised Axford didn't bury a slider in there during that pitch sequence. Jose's gotta lay off the pitches outside the zone. I know he's protecting, but the one he fouled off was almost a foot off the plate.

Abreu had some good hacks at that at bat but I never felt like he was gonna drive one fair like he did that one inning. Sox have had some good swings tonight.

 

Well, this game is a lot like last year. Sox leading a close game with a ton of baseball to be played and a ton of relievers to be used. In other words, this baby is still up for grabs.
