Sale really is prone to HR late in ballgames.

God. We've had 3 balls that looked out that stayed in.

Cleveland had 2 that looked in but went out.

Wow this is SOS

• A runner sliding into second has to make "a bona fide attempt" not just to slide into the base, but also to "remain on the base."

• Runners will not be allowed to change their "pathway to the base" in the middle of a slide to break up a double play.

• Baserunners can no longer use a "roll block" on an infielder to break up a double play. Essentially, that means they can't start their slide in midair and make contact with the infielder at or near the knee, with either a leg, arm or the body, before they've made contact with the ground.

• If a runner makes contact with the infielder illegally, both he and the batter would be called out.

• But if the runner makes contact with the infielder while attempting a "bona fide" slide, he would not be called for interference.

• Finally, because of these new safety measures, MLB and the union have agreed to allow umpires to more strictly enforce the "neighborhood play" and use replay to review that play for the first time.

Here's one instance of it severely affecting a game

Thanks!

Sale has to be perfect to win. This sucks

I smell a ND for Sale.

Umm, correction.....

SOS

Sale has not been that impressive since early last year.

If we are going to compete he has to be dominant and not throwing home runs all over the place.

Umm, correction.....

You jinxed him!!!

Sox will be lucky to score again today.

If they get swept at home the first weekend, they will be just like the 2015 team in terms of sucking. I have not been impressed with Avila thus far and it's not a good thing that they haven't executed with runners on.

Definitely time to trade Sale.

Seems like whenever people are so sure Sale will get us a win we suck

His stuff just isn't good to start the year

Sarcasm....half the people on here would be way happier if this team was in a constant state of rebuilding with no hope. Then they always have someone to pin blame on.

Would that do the Sox much good? Would it make them better as a team?

Edit: Didn't see the sarcasm.

7 innings 3 runs is by no means bad. By Sale standards, it's slightly subpar, but still not bad.

At least they'd have a direction. Feels like they're stuck in the mud now.

Right because this is the NFL with a 16 game season.

Give me a f***ing break.

What the f*** does that have to do with the NFL?

AJ for lead off please and Eaton in the 2 spot

Great AB by Jackson. Finally gets rewarded for a great day

It's a long season. If you want to jump off a bridge in regards to this team just get it over with.
