Avila sucks. I keep telling myself that, while he might not have done much yet, it's awesome that he sees so many pitches. And yet, for all of that, he has two walks in seven games. Seriously, he should just not swing and hope for the best.

First K is on 3 pitches. Talk about efficiency.

I don't necessarily think that, but I didn't see the point in giving him a big raise either. He was good at pitch framing and that was about it.

I never thought Flowers needed to go and would have been absolutely fine with him being our starting C this year but by years end this duo will be better than what we were getting out of our catchers last year. I feel pretty confident in saying that.

I think I liked Flowers more than most be he was just as capable of 0-60 stretches and was really not that good at keeping balls in front of him or throwing runners out.

 

Avila does just look straight up broken down though.

I honestly thought if was healthy, and from all indications he is, he could hit 220/330/350 and give just as good as defense as flowers except with some more OBP. I think however he might just be toast. His back and concussion issues are behind him and he still sucks.

In OOTP 16, Soto is usually a 2 WAR player. Of course I turn the injury slider down

Saladino needs to play until he proves he's not good. I kinda think he might be good.

Saladino with the classic batting average better than OBP stat line.
