He really needs better command if he's taking so much of his fastball

Just a shame they burned through the pen in what should have been a blowout victory in game 1.

Bennetti gets way too excited off the bat

He'll learn. He isn't great at judging balls right off the bat just yet.

EJ has really bad body language imo.

If you would have told me Johnson would go 6 innings & give up just 3 runs, I would have fully assumed that he'd be in line for the win. Not the case tonight.

kudos to the program director who intro'd sox math and sticks and stones. creative stuff and helps fill the air.

Hey, he got a call!

Johnson pitches similar to Latos.

Heh.. he just matched Latos stat line. 6 IP, 3 ER.

I'll take this effort. Can the bats get going ffs?

Pitching well enough to win

lol, Avila was like "you serious bro" after that changeup missed by a foot and a half.

That is QS for Johnson. That is all you could ask for from him to be honest. He kept it close and we are in the game, offense has to show up though

He looks terrible I just turned the game on and I've seen him miss like 6 spots by a lot in a few batters. Probably getting lucky that he's not missing spots out over the plate.

Nice game by EJ, umpiring was squeezing him and he made a couple mistakes but left the Sox right in this game.

Quality start for Johnson but offense struggling to put together a big inning against Anderson.

7 in a row retired.

At the very least, Erik prevented the bullpen from totally getting blown up.

The real offense returned for the night cap

Abreu continues to look awful. Oh well, I'll gladly take the split if they can't come back in this one.

Abreu is the worst hitter on the team right now.

This is pathetic.

Abreu is an automatic out currently.

10 in a row retired by Anderson.

Need a bloop and a blast late. Doesn't feel like we have a chance to manufacture any runs these days...or execute with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs.

Are we really getting f***ing dominated by a guy with an ERA north of 7? Really??

I'd bat him lower in the order 6th or 7th

Why is Johnson still out there?

Game over.

I guess a split is ok.
