Guys ... we don't win road series in the Central Division. It's a moral victory to get one win. Until Robin leaves this is the case (cept in September of course when we sometimes sweep a series or two).

You write the Sox season off every day after they lose, man. You can't take very valid criticisms of Sale so seriously.

It's really sad that the front office thought we could get away without adding another proven bat this offseason. Any of Cespedes, Fowler, or Desmond would look damn good in our lineup right now, but instead we went cheap at both SS & OF and didn't even addres the DH spot. It was buyer's market and we shopped in the clearance section.

Sale started this inning at under 100 pitches right? Against a division opponent, your supposed #1 pitcher, 1 run game, and a bullpen that has struggled recently? If the team has made a decision that it's time to save Sale's pitches and rest him a bit fine take him out, but I can't critique that. Chris Sale ought to get 110 pitches unless they're trying to conserve his innings already, and if they are trying that then they shoudln't have moved him up a day last week.

Some day they'll do this. It'll likely be 3 years and a TJ Surgery too late, but they'll do it.

 

I do think that if this isn't a playoff year, they have to at least test the market. They've had Sale and Quintana at their best now for a year (maybe 2, if this year ends well), and it's gotten them nowhere. Build a real farm system.

It's a stupid statement. The regular season and playoffs are not even close to the same thing, so it makes no sense to predict how a certain player(s) would perform in the postseason if they've never gotten the chance.

 

We've seen great players look horrible in the postseason and unknowns thrive. It's a crapshoot.
