Royals are just as dead as the Sox this year, just with injuries.

 

 

They have the Indians at home starting this week...big series for both teams. more for the Royals to hold serve after getting swept in Cleveland. CLE sets the tone of being the favorite or KC sends a message they're not going down so easily.

 

Meanwhile, the Tigers are lurking right there, too.

He swings at just about everything. Reminds me of Avi's approach. Which in general is not very good.

Lawrie with a 31% K rate, up 50% over his career average. Absolutely mind-boggling there hasn't been a coaching with all the guys with s***ty approaches at the plate.

I think it's just time to come to grips with the fact that this is just not a good team. I've kept a much more level head this past week & watched objectively. They are just not good. Sucks to say but seems like a reality at this point.

The problem is we only have four guys who should be really good hitters. The front office passed on a bunch of free agent upgrades this offseason, despite being a buyer's market. Instead, they went dumpster diving at a bunch of spots (with the exception of Frazier) and those additions have basically provided nothing. Our offseason plan was horribly designed and I'm not sure if that should fall on Hahn/KW or Reinsdorf, but the team is a very tough spot right now.
