  1. Yeah, the nerve of him to have an opinion that you don't agree with...
  2. Cleveland has seven games left against the Tigers and the Pirates. I'm rooting for Minnesota to take at least two.
  3. It's a bit disingenuous. It helps when you happen to be Giolito's personal catcher.
  4. I would have to disagree. The competitive window is just opening. If they had actually made a big splash in the FA pitching market last off-season, then maybe the conversation is different. If they're rolling out Giolito/Keuchel/Wheeler then I think I would be there with you. But. if this is the heart of our competitive window and we're running Lopez/Cease and a total noob like Dunning out there every fifth day, then things aren't as rosy as they first appear. There are no certainties. Prospects bust ... but so do trade acquisitions/FAs ...etc. You could trade Vaughn for 2-3 years of a TOR starter who could get hurt on day 1.
  5. If this is the prospect price for a TOR SP with only 2+ years of control, then I expect a very quiet day in White Sox land.
  6. Vaughn is now expendable due to the next Abreu extension. 😁
  7. If Heuer is being dealt that means there's most likely a SP coming back in return. The plan could be Rodon and Lopez to the pen.
  8. Frankly, I'm not sold on Kopech. I think there's still a good chance that he falls far short of his billing. I would much rather include him and get Woodruff in return who is controllable until 2025, than include Dunning and get two years of Lance Lynn.
  9. He seems to have built up some credibility over time. Seems pretty stupid to waste it using such specific language and leaving no wiggle room if nothing happens.
  10. So, Eloy + third string catcher + the end of the bench + a manager? Yes, that would be awesome for us.
  11. I was never a fan of his broadcasting, but I can't help but think what a shame it is about the timing of Ed Farmer's death. I don't think there's anyone in the world who would have enjoyed tonight more than him.
  12. " A follow up question, Rick ... then why not catch McCann more often and DH Grandal if you want to keep his potential LH bat in the lineup? is Zach Collins a lost cause on the bench?"
  13. Well, That's two consecutive outs without a strikeout. I'm calling that progress.
  14. Just the fact that he chose to answer this question and answer it the way he did could mean there is a move imminent.
  15. This trip to KC is critical. We're currently the equivalent of 2.7-10.8 (let's call it 3-11). I'm much less worried about where we are as I am about how we got here. The only distraction from the crappy pitching has been the clown show that fills out the lineup card.
  16. Does Ozzie pitch too? I hope so, because as bad as RR's batting lineups are, the pitching is a while lot of awful right now. There's no way we're winning two games against the Twins, regardless of the manager.
  17. Lopez got several swinging strikes with his change up in one of the intrasquad games. Of course this was after Grandal took him yard with what, iirc, was a fastball. It seemed like there was hope on the off speed front, but that fastball just doesn't seem have any movement. I suspect he's destined for the pen or a new home. He had many chances and was given a pretty long leash during the rebuild. Now there are younger guys pushing him for SP and eventually he would have to be replaced anyway in the FA market if he cannot begin to produce. The rebuild it's over. Time to win.
  18. My recollection is that he referred to the hitting background in CF at GRF as "shrubbery" when Robert deposited a pitch there during one of the intrasquad games. Though, I didn't actually see the entire game tonight, so maybe he did.
  19. I love how Jason refers to the ivy as "brush", though I think it would be really awesome if he'd call it what it really is, "the weeds".
