I feel very strongly about the following subject....

I've had about 3 or 4 MOM'S ask me to buy girl scout cookies from their daughter, even bringing the order sheet to me. When I was in little league and other things, I went door to door to try and sell stuff to raise money, my parents NEVER took my sheet to their jobs or anything like that.

I told these ladies if their kids come and ask me personally, I would order a box or two. Get them to do the work!

Anchorage Alaska current temp: 32

Fort Worth Texas current temp: 19

wtf?

Anchorage isn't as cold as you'd think, thanks to the ocean. Its warmer than Chicago for parts of the winter, on average. It is also, however, very dark.

I don't have children, but I am going to guess that most kids today have more stuff going on than we did at their age. I would be surprised if the kids have time to come and actually sell that stuff.

On top of that, parents aren't going to let the kids go door to door anymore. Too dangerous, unless the parent's go with them, which they might not have time to do. And they aren't going to skip school to come to their parent's work.

In principle, I think you are right. But I won't fault parents until I have to raise kids myself.

Well, how about school? Then any clubs, band, choir, sports whatever other after school activities they might be involved in.

So according to the latest temps...

DFW 29 degrees-Michigan City 28.

Now that two feet of snow we have sitting on the ground, that is a different story.

We have 3 feet here. :crying

Did none of these things you mentioned exist until the past decade or two? I think kids are just lazier than ever, and expect everything handed to them (parents fault), more so than parents are worried that their children will get abducted. Also you don't exactly have to walk door to door, get a grocery stores permission and sell your product right outside the store, and sometimes they even let you sell them in the doorway, depending on the weather. If someone attempts to abduct you (kid), bite, kick, and scream until you can scream no longer.

Went to Windsor, Canada for the first time even though I had lived in Ann Arbor for 5 years (but now im 20 so it was actually worth going to).

Went to a casino, bar, and night club in that order, good times were had by all especially because I was only down 10 bucks from the casino for a few hours of entertainment (also my first time doing real gambling that wasnt just with friends). I must say though, they water down the drinks big time. It usually takes alot to get me drunk but I had 5 shots of tequila, 4 jeagerbombs, a few pints of bud light, and a few rum and cokes and was barely tipsy. Shouldve just had the beer all night.

Yeah, Windsor is not the greatest experience because they cater to all of the 19 and 20 year old Michigan kids. You have got to get further into Canada for a good time.
