  1. Looks like Mogollon had a ball in play last night 🔥
  2. It's really nice to not be in historically bad mode. I've even watched games - big improvement. Korey Lee, Benintendi, Pham, Ramos all have been providing enough offense. That said - our run differential hasn't budged that much. Maybe when Robert returns, if vaughn gets talent injections, we can end up in a place where we aren't skin of the teeth. But having stretches of .500 ball isn't really abnormal for bad teams during the course of a season. They just need to prevent another horrific stretch like they had in April.
  3. Ramos was one of the few prospects we've had where outside publications raved about their makeup. That he has handled this well despite starting so ice cold in AA would make me believe it was true. He seems to actually want to succeed at baseball, makes him look like derek jeter in this org.
  4. Well pretty good pitching from nastrini and Eder.
  5. Really hope Burke can get something going, real bummer of a start so far. Poor mogollon, has not had a result that hasn't ended up in a catchers mit so far. 9 PAs, 8 Ks, 1 BB.
  6. I think the terrible problem for the sox is we could increase spending, but if they handed out three, four-year $70 million deals and that would be like getting a few bullpen pitchers and a 4th starter.
  7. I think the good news for Robert is the control allows us to play the market. Last offseason I mentioned seemed like the perfect time to move Robert, and a bad time to move Cease. I'm not sure we'll know until this offseason if it's a particularly good/bad time to move robert, but obviously he's talented enough that you'd never expect a tepid market, just about how many plan b's other gms can squint and still see as acceptable.
  8. Eh, I assumed this guy would rake until AA. He was a high performing college hitter. That he was soooo bad against udfa pitchers and high schoolers was a real red flag. Glad he has a chance at being a major leaguer but still not that interested until he can generate more consistent power. ESP at W-S
  9. Thank god for Rick Hahn. Who would have guessed that his graveyard hour trades for Lee and Quero, Nastrini et al would be the last decent talent we’d see enter the org for the foreseeable future. All hail haber and his computer, much preferable to org chart Getz
  10. They can’t be considered filler because they are playing worse than filler.
  11. He got us negative anything. I think he could have gotten us nothing, and off the 40 man.
  12. decent chance his prorated amount was worth more than the guy they just acquired. We just saw some teams trade cash considerations for sox prospects, so this isn't that interesting to me or worth applauding.
  13. Sox could have traded nothing and gotten these guys as free agents after they were DFA'd is my main point.
  14. They could only trade him once. So your evaluation is that "yes the sox made a great trade because they acquired a 25 year old marginal RH relief prospect and 4 players that were far below major league level, made the team worse, and also created a 40 man crunch that has caused them to let go of more promising players" is a win and I guess i disagree.
  15. We are about 45 days in: ATL gets Aaron Bummer + 0.2 fWAR CHW get: Jared Schuster + 0.1 fWAR Nicky Lopez -0.1 fWAR Braden Schewmake -0.5 fWAR Mike Soroka -0.5 fWAR Riley Gowens mercifully is just a 24 year old sucking in A+ Totals ATL +0.2 fWAR CHW -1.0 fWAR Which on a normal team would indicate that not trading bummer would mean the sox added 1.2 wins above replacement to their team. But obviously, we know its possible Getz would have found even worse players than Shewmake and Lopez, so this may be true that it prevented even more harm.
