  2. No discounts on PCA jerseys? What are the rumors?? All those newly acquired FA pitchers, + Imanaga Happ Suzuki all out? Ricketts will actually spend or sit on his profits again?
  3. For the next trick, Caitlin Clark will advance in the playoffs against the defending champs and Iowa will beat Ohio State while cows/pigs simultaneously take to the air in flight. Best sports week ever, except for the 2005 World Series...not going to count on any more good fortune even with the Pope's divine intervention...or maybe it's intercession in this case.
  4. Okay, I thought you said you were coming to the states to see the first post-season game with your dad. I really was rooting for that.
  5. A while back the ole Hawkaroo was talking about long names on the back of jerseys. He said, you had two choices, get a shorter name or get a bigger back. Anyways, this team rules and they don't need shorter names.
  6. Now that we won't play Houston until next year...we absolutely neutralized Yordan Alvarez all year. He went 5 for 28 against us in 9 games with no homers.
  7. It's almost like the Front Office has an idea what it's doing, and not the online intelligencia.
  8. How else was Reinsdorf going to retire $150 million in accrued debt? Borrow it all from MLB?
  9. The win marked Chicago's first postseason series victory since 2005, a drought exceeded in MLB by only the Cincinnati Reds. It was not supposed to happen, at least not this soon. Not for a team just two years removed from a record 121-loss season. Not for a team so young and so inexperienced. "We've got a young, hungry group, some veteran guys that we lean on," second baseman Chase Meidroth said. "But it's been the same all year. We believe we can win every game." ***Venable said that if the double steal wouldn't have happened, Meidroth would have been asked to put down a sacrifice bunt. Instead, he was free to swing.*** "I was looking for something middle up," Meidroth said. "He's had my number all year. Really good fastball. I got something middle up, and I was able to cash in for the team. Yeah, that was awesome." Braden and Colson struck out, right? Five in a row, actually. espn.com
  10. That would be pretty difficult. He passed away in 1999...but he brought me to all the games I could handle as a teenager, even though he really wasn't a big baseball fan himself. My most poignant memories are actually driving over from the QCities with one of my best friends and his father (huge Sox fan, passed away at 77 to Lewy-Body Dementia) to so many weekend games in the summertime.
  11. South side celebration was not heard up in Winnetka. Dude doesn't acknowledge anything or anyone "South side." Ishbya had nothing to do with the White Sox this season, not spending one cent on the team, but some want to svk his dik anyway because they hate the South side as well.
  12. Main front page story at SI.com https://www.si.com/mlb/white-sox-sweep-astros-al-wild-card-series-takeaways Meidroth star turn
  13. Can't ask for a better start to the playoffs for me... Cubs LOSE Red Sox LOSE White Sox WIN Now for Tampa to beat the Yankees and I'll be one happy camper.

  15. That I think would be a mistake.
  16. I feel compelled to post this. Somebody tell me to STFU if it's wrong.
  17. What a weird way to put it lol
  18. ...Okay but what if the "honest answer" is that they actually were just cheating for a while? Lol
  19. Yeah I just saw the schedule and it's a big advantage for us. We can start Martin in game 1 on Saturday and then go to Burke for game 2 on full rest since that's on Monday. Then we can go Kay or Fedde in game 3 and bullpen game for game 4. We can even choose between Burke and Martin for game 5.
  20. Venable's calm demeanor worked well in a short series beset with high tension. He's also relentlessly supportive of his players, and they obviously respect him and the vets on the team. Bullpen choices almost perfect, especially Kay Hicks Fedde today.
  21. Their first 3 hitters in the lineup didn't get a hit in the 2 games. Generational choke job from the best offense in baseball.
  22. Being reported on Twitter that Chris Murphy will be the opener
