Pretty sure he’ll regress to the mean next season, but it’s fun for now

Doomers, panicans, optimists and everybody betwixt - do the Sox make the playoffs? (8/25/2026 poll)
I’m deliriously happy Getz kept all the main prospects in the organization to build more value. That’s the right play for a team that is more about the future than the present. I’d like to have gotten more for Boston Smith. But that’s a good example of why you don’t want to be under the gun forced to make moves.

I’m optimistic. But I’m not emotionally attached to an outcome in a year where the team arrives ahead of schedule. It’s all good, they already have achieved everything they could’ve hoped for

2026 MLB Catch All (Non Sox, Non AL Central)
At a time when fast-growing prediction markets are jostling for tie-ups with big name sports franchises, Kalshi announced deals with five of Major League Baseball's best known franchises. On Tuesday, the site announced it has arranged multi-year brand partnerships with The Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. The partnerships will let the prediction market platform advertise through stadium ads, digital and radio promotions, and branded spaces. For example, the Dodgers will give Kalshi naming rights for the Golden Glove Bar under the partnership. The platform will also offer fans special promotions and in-person events at the teams' home ballparks. The announcement comes as major prediction markets race to partner with Major League Baseball teams. These markets, which allow traders to wager on anything from sports to elections and pop culture, have exploded over the past two years. Sports make up a significant portion of trading. So far in 2026, baseball-related contracts traded on the platform totaled nearly 13 billion, according to a Kalshi spokesperson. The figure represents a 36-fold increase from the roughly 355 million contracts traded during the same period in 2025. "It only makes sense to extend that fandom to some of the most beloved baseball teams in America," said Adam Barrick, Kalshi's head of sports partnerships, in a statement. Yahoo.com/sports

And will likely end ranked third overall at season’s end due to Andy Pages’ injury https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?stats=bat&lg=all&type=8&season=2026&month=0&season1=2026&ind=0&pos=cf&qual=350 The Chicago White Sox did not scout or draft Tristan Peters originally; they acquired him via a minor waiver/cash trade after being DFA’ed from the Tampa Bay Rays on December 18, 2025. [1, 2] Peters was originally drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the seventh round of the 2021 MLB Draft out of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Public records do not specify an individual scout credited for his acquisition by the White Sox, as he was a pro-scouting/front office waiver pickup after being designated for assignment by Tampa Bay. [1, 2, 3] If you're interested, I can share: The details of his trade history across the Brewers, Giants (instead spent a boatload on Lee from Korea), and Rays His breakout 2026 stats with the White Sox

8/25 White Sox vs Rangers: Kay vs DeGrom 6:40 PM
Encouraging game from the guys at the plate today. Psycho Sammy with the triple, Colson getting on the board with a hit, Peters continuing to rake, Chase back to the party, and Peters showing off. Even Doyle had some good at bats and a stolen bag. Vargas keeps it up as steady Eddie. Tomorrow I hope we see continued signs from all of these guys AND Mune joins the party. Biggest factors for this club as the finish line starts to emerge in sight: 1.) We need at least four reliable starters and a fifth arm that will at a minimum give us competitive innings (duh) 2.) Colson and Mune are needed big time (duh) 3.) The pen needs to get some rest and have at least three ( ideally four ) arms that are nails. 4.) We must see this team play a tight ship defensively. They absolutely cannot be giving any teams extra outs. Get 27 per game. That’s challenging enough as it is.

Try not to kiss it too many times. Those public statues can carry a lot of bacteria.

Lock out 2027
Talk about a potential waste. Just drop me off a cool mil and I’ll do a major Internet media blitz for you. Or maybe I should just position myself as a sports attorney and get paid. 😆

Lock out 2027
This is an inspired idea. Love it. As such, the likelihood Manspread will ever even consider it is near 0%.

Fegan on deadline acquisitions...
Very little actually said here. Summary for anyone that cares: 1.) They believe in all of the guys they brought on and have plans for all of them which they are hoping lead them all to being productive. 2.) Proclaims “changes during the season are hard, even small ones.” And that’s about all. Some specifics about bringing Castillo’s change back, hope for Doyle to return to his 20 home run potential, and Brazoban’s arm angle having been different prior to his injury that they seem to equate to his poor performance since coming over. “These guys could give us meaningful production in October which would be great” “It’s hard to judge impact in just three week” Stuff like that.

It’s an inflection point. They will either figure it out and make ends meet, or they won’t. So far this year whenever they’ve been at this spot the results have been flying colors. We shall see. Just need to stay thankful that we’re even in a meaningful position well before expectations described… and yet, I will forever question Getz and his deadline “performance.”

And that's a no white flag waving White Sox winner!
No surprise.
