  2. RealGM is the equivalent of clueless Sox fans on Twitter. Sox fans on this site actually have a clue about contracts and how they work.
  3. https://nypost.com/2026/08/04/sports/pete-crow-armstrong-embraces-bizarre-babe-ruth-didnt-exist-conspiracy-theory/ PCA goes all Carl Everett and questions the very existence of Babe Ruth “This is gonna be crazy,” he acknowledged. “Babe Ruth never existed is one that I like. I heard some pitcher with the Mariners … I think he did some podcast on Zoom where he was going down the rabbit hole with somebody about how Babe Ruth never existed. “We always talk about how the game is evolving, people might as well have been like underhanding the ball to that guy,” he continued. “And he’s regarded still as one of the best players ever. Might as well dive further into it and be like, well, maybe he just never existed."

  5. I had to explain player options for years on realgm don't tell me that the immediate reaction from over posters wasn't people that thought we were spending 75 million on this. Because they played the show or ootp
  6. Hard for me to understand why Quero was sent down, and we keep Romo who is worse instead.
  7. Certainly not cleanup. Will is stubborn reluctant to change.
  8. But against minor league pitching.
  9. Would have been a bigger threat if they had kept Skubal.
  10. And no Skubal now. They have thrown in the towel.
  11. The Cubs start PCA and Busch, both lefties, against all pitchers every game. Sam is no PCA but still one of our best players. Should start every game. You can always retract if it does not work out, which I doubt though.
  12. Girl/woman Detroit reportedly wanted controllable pitching capable of contributing quickly. That requirement gave Los Angeles an advantage through Ryan, a 27-year-old starter who could enter the Tigers’ rotation this month. Hope supplied a high-upside position player, while Smith added another young arm. Milwaukee’s initial proposal consisted entirely of hitters. The Tigers already possess a potential franchise shortstop in Kevin McGonigle, which may have made Peña less attractive than an MLB-ready pitcher. Teams reportedly expressed interest in Brewers right-hander Logan Henderson, but it remains unclear whether Milwaukee included him in its strongest proposal. Top prospect Jesús Made was considered unavailable. Brewers principal owner Mark Attanasio confirmed that Milwaukee stretched beyond its usual comfort zone in pursuing Skubal, even if the result did not reflect that aggression. “Matt [Arnold] and his group, they did a lot to get Skubal and went way out of their typical approach,” Attanasio said on Brewers TV. “But it’s binary. You can only have one winner, and the Detroit Tigers picked the package they thought was best for them.” Milwaukee may have believed its offer carried greater prospect value. Detroit’s decision showed that the Dodgers’ package better matched what the Tigers actually wanted. Nypost.com
  13. Not sure how that is true when they are 7-3 in their last 10
  14. The Astros woke up and have gone 12-2 in their last 14. The AL wasn't going to stay broke all season.
  15. Sam should start every game. He’s a grinder and makes things happen, regardless if a pitcher is a righty or lefty.
  16. another tough lefty tomorrow. Would rather have Sam start, sit Colson tomorrow
  17. Let’s see if we can’t steal one tomorrow. Either way let’s get the hell out of Boston…hopefully for the rest of the calendar year.
  18. Seattle 4-2 over Detroit Mize gave up eight for Padres in Shields/Peralta impersonation lol
  19. Agreed. I’m not trying to be a hater or saying he needs to go. Unfortunately, they need him now at least a slightly better version of him. It’s hard to watch him hit right now. Just hope he runs into one.
  20. Speier hits Torres on purpose, gets tossed. Bazardo comes in and immediately gives up a 2 run homer. Just Mariner things.
  21. Maybe in a year or two if the Sox have a deeper starting lineup they can move him down a little in the order and take some of the pressure off. You have to remember as well he's still a very young, raw, player learning the ropes. That takes time.
  22. Unless you’re a professional, paid scout, these opinions are basically meaningless. Not even Keith Law is watching 7-10 consecutive games of a player. They’re snapshots. 98% chance Adam’s doesn’t have the stuff for the majors, and Boston Smith doesn’t become a frontline catcher, but they’re still assets that were essentially wasted…when they already had Hill Pereira Hays and Acuna. Getting too cute with the roster. How much would Castillo get this off-season on the open market? Probably around $6-8 million, a one year deal with an option for 2028 based on innings/performance, probably. White Sox outbid the entire market by a long shot…just like Tigers panicked not holding onto Skubal and getting more from the Brewers. Basically all paid baseball writers go with what team scouts and industry insiders say about prospects…just don’t have the time/resources/ROI for it to be worthwhile traveling to follow players, even Roch or Lackey. Jeff Teague had a long NBA career and gave up scouting for ATL after paying to upgrade lousy hotel rooms, lol. there’s just no money in it, especially with AI standardizing things and all the investment going into SEC and ACC budgets/coaching staffs.
  23. I’m assuming this has been cussed and discussed upstream, but what do you do with CMont? I’m not a hater, but the guy is fortunate to hit one fair ball a game. How do you put him in a spot to succeed?
  24. Derek Hill broke his face on the play before this.
  25. They keep on giving: Seattle hits a go-ahead 3 run homer.
  26. Three run Rodriguez bomb lol. Detroit also losing. Sox can thank their lucky stars for the reprieve.
  27. Very true and I've never understood why JR keeps allowing it to happen. As "fiscally responsible" (his words) as he is how this doesn't get him angry at his front office is beyond me. They'll literally waste millions of dollars every year it seems on stiffs, has-been's, retreads and injury-prone guys hoping to catch lightening in a bottle. But to spend top dollar for players like Machado, Harper and their ilk....nope, can't do that!
