I think the mechanic considerations they are working with when running him out there as a starter are different when he is not attempting to extend to a starters workload. In his relief appearances he has looked like a completely different kid. Limited walks, higher strikeout rates, and I don’t think he’s even given up a run.

Montgomery has to be damn near untouchable. I don't even like the idea of trading Bonemer, but at least he plays a position where the Sox are heavy on prospects.

Go get Holmes & Ray. That won't cost you a Bonemer, Smith or Carlson. Rotation: Burke/Martin/Ray/Holmes/Kay Fedde to the bullpen

Martin, Kay and Burke are locks for the rotation next year. We have Shane Smith, Hagen Smith, Thorpe, Adams, Schultz, Sandlin, McDougal in the wings. I have to imagine at least 3 of those guys are dealt. Eventually, won't you run into a 40 man crunch or have to keep them in AAA?

The Angels are so far away that they should focus on getting the most talent back regardless of where they are in the minors. Then again, it’s the Angels. Wouldn’t surprise me if they wanted guys to plug into their lineup right away.

If these are the rumored prices, I wouldn’t be shocked if Getz settles for an expiring contract starter and Urquidy, along with a decent catcher, and I can’t say he should be blamed if that is the end result of the deadline.

We should consider doing one of both…a controllable SP and a rental SP with a big contract whose salary will weigh down the prospect cost.
