  1. Past hour

  2. Someone toss up a game thread
  3. Sam has not looked very good at 2nd all year. Good news is he’s playing there tonight and Meidroth is at SS. Nothing like downgrading both positions.
  4. It was iffy, over the shoulder running with his back to the infield and nearly made a basket catch, would have been a helluva play if he made it. Does Chase make it? Potentially, but not certain.
  5. I only saw it from a distance on a TV...was there a bloop that Antonacci should have caught?
  6. There clearly is a God....Meidroth at SS tonight instead of "instant out" Acuna. Sam at 2B and Peters in LF as someone suggested in last night's GameThread.
  7. Is this today's game thread?
  8. What is the point of any of this? Every thread on SoxTalk is merely symbolic of how another year's gone by and how little we've grown, no matter how desperate we are that someday a better team will emerge, with each flicker of the fireworks behind the scoreboard, we know it's not to be, that for the rest of our sad, wretched, pathetic lives, this is who we are to the bitter end, inevitably, irrecovacly, Go White Sox? No such thing.
  9. Today

  10. Oh had Hudson not faced the min yet? I guess I didn't realize that, my bad.
  11. Hudson kind of feels like Bummer. A guy whose stuff looks good but he gets nickeled and dimed to death.
  12. Bullpens are so fickle
  13. 1981 is also included although you may not have been around. And yes the owners are willing to piss that away.
  14. He's had a few the last 10 days hasn't he?
  15. To get replies. Good job!
  16. The Sox lost in embarrassing fashion on a night dedicated to the head of the Catholic Church. I think this is a postgame thread.
  17. Had no choice, which shows you how bad of a move it was
  18. I have a bottle of Lagavulin reserved for the day I read that obituary.
  19. And don’t forget our owner is usually front and center for the owners on the other side of the table
  20. Sad how his career turned out. I think this event is more of an apology for the dark years of TLR and Grifol.
  21. I'm not sure of the exact figures, but there's been a slew of articles about baseball ratings overtaking the NBA recently, or at least closing the gap. A stoppage would likely wash most of that away for years.
  22. We should just turn Burke into the next Ohtani and have him catch when he's not on the mound. Opens up a roster spot.
  23. So what was the point of this thread?
  24. I don't think so. I also don't think there will be a work stoppage
  25. I found it very Grifol-esque of Will to leave Hudson in against Elly last night when Elly has been killing LHP this year and clearly Hudson is cooked. Rough game for Will last night.

I guess they look at it as just needing to field a position. Adding outside catchers unless they are real veterans is risky handling pitchers.
