  1. Past hour

  2. Colson's defense has been really good the last week or so other than weak ass throw that Mune bailed him out on.
  3. You’re pretty wordy for an old man that gets his jollies off by talking s%*# on a message board which you would never do in real life face-to-face to me or anyone else. Once again, if you post a thread on a public message board, anyone can respond. Or do you only want replies that agree with you to help feed your frail ego? What don’t you get, Ron Willie from Cali? Cuz that’s all we know about you, Mr. Anonymous…
  4. Quantity is a quality of its own and one the Sox system doesn't have. 4 prospects at a 40 FV will probably produce one at 50, so a solid starter, and then the other three guys are probably just backups or never make MLB. Still a useful flip for the seller. I don't really see anybody that Sox traded becoming a solid starter, maybe Boston Smith but he's a man without a MLB position and if he's not a catcher he's nothing. s%*# that Josh Hartle guy pitched 4.1 scoreless today for Nats and has a 6/1 walk to K ratio to start his MLB career. We'd be livid if we traded that guy from our system right now.
  5. Springfield, at a minimum, I wondered if Sam's copping of that surprise double, by way of pure hustle, on the first pitch of the game, might've thrown Melton off his game just enough to set the scene for additional Sox offense. Maybe it didn't affect him at all, but I do wonder.
  6. Rewatching the game as I had to work during the middle of it, Jason's tears are delicious. His partner is awful, adds nothing, and Jason gets to fill the air, the thing he loves most.
  7. Of course Getz could have, but his sphincter tightened up as Hawk would say. Getz refused to acquire any player at the deadline that didn’t have additional year(s) of control. FanGraphs BaseballFoster, for Four People? Guardians Acquire Foster Griffin...Look, there have been a lot of deals today, so the headlines are getting silly.“Ah yes, the cost. The Guardians traded Josh Hartle, Will Dion, Kendeglys Virguez, and Nick Mitchell to Washington. At a high level, that’s quantity over quality, three interesting arms and an outfielder, none ranked above a 40 FV.”
  8. Today

  9. You’re telling me we couldn’t have beat the package Cleveland sent to DC for Griffin and you would have considered sending a similar package to be “going out on a limb”?
  10. Will likes his soft-tossers. So far so good. Maybe Thorpe will bring some magic
  11. They just weren't going to go out on a limb for a rental . Why do that if the asking prices were absurd ? No one else bit on Detmers and some pretty good prospects were given up for rentals. There's no need to try to sabotage your own efforts to rebuild. Detmers screams Samardzija . He tried to get as much as he could for as little as he could. That's not a terrible strategy for a team that is lovable but not even close to a juggernaut. Getz was being Getz like still churning the roster looking for an edge. We've been critical of him since he was named GM and so far it's working out ahead of schedule. Why focus on short term wins that you'd be lucky to end up making the playoffs and winning against your 1st opponent at the expense of real team building headed in the the Ishbia years. I feel like one minute you like what he did and another minute you're talking like 1 more pitcher could've put them in the World Series. Which pitcher did you have in mind who would make a difference ? They've been playing .500 for a few months now. That doesn't scream 1 pitcher away from winning it all. Teams with 15 rookies making debuts advancing very far in the playoffs is a pipe dream. You're feeding the beasts that are saying they should have gone for it only for it to fail and then those beasts laugh and feed like they've been doing. They want the Sox to fail so they can claim victory that they knew they sucked all along. How often have you heard "sucked"or "embarrassing" even this year from them ?
  12. I clipped the best part of that tigers rant: StreamableWatch unnamed | StreamableWatch "unnamed" on Streamable.
  13. Terrible. I try to avoid prescription pills at all costs. We live in a society of pill poppers!
  14. I also like that Will saved Richards to close tomorrow, it was just a deflating knock-out punch for the Guardians when they looked up, and saw that Venable thought so little of them, he'd let his junk-man close.
  15. They just don't let things linger. That Tuesday loss, for example, was ridiculous...they just moved on. Sox have had a few games like that since the break.
  16. Totally agree. This is so true!!
  17. Yeah it’s in there. Like a lot of young arms just needs the consistency.
  18. 5 up on loss column is nice. It's starting to feel like we're going to get 85-87 and it will be enough. .510 from here on out pretty much forces the three teams behind us to go like 65% baseball to pass us. Doesn't really feel like any of them have that in them. Will change a bit after the finals tonight but Sox are +15 runs ahead of the 2nd place team in the AL in RS now. Starting to pull away a bit. Detroit sounds like they are doing a bullpen day tmr. Be nice to stay hot and put up another 6-10.
  19. Cleveland looks like they'll win, so they'll remain 5 back. But maintaining the 4.5 game lead is nice.
  20. This. 2026, as great of a season as it has been, is still a developmental season. Quero clearly isn’t as far along as some of his teammates.
  21. Phillies up 8-1 in the 7th.
  22. Nope it just says what he's capable of to people who say the Sox don't know how to handle pitchers. Got him back on track with the changeup and voila looked better than he had all year with Seattle . The stuff is certainly there. What do you think so far looking good or a disaster ? or wait and see which had always been my stance since I gave my 1st thoughts on the trade.
  23. I'll put it behind a spoiler mods if you want to delete it go ahead
  24. wegner replied to BamaDoc's topic in FutureSox Board
His first MLB start was so good. Not the rest obviously. Hope for rotation in the future though.
  25. Exactly why they should have gotten another starter before the deadline. It’s been their only inexcusable failure this season IMO. Ways to shut me the f*** up: 1.) Davis returns to form. 2.) One of Thorpe / Smith / Schultz / Sandlin prove to be viable rotation piece. 3.) Starting pitching isn’t an issue in the post season. AND They also get a frontline starting pitcher this offseason via trade or free agency.
