I'm super happy he's doing well but also when he slumped some people wanted to throw him overboard. He's certainly got a lot of talent and if you look at Baseball savant you don't see great things but he has an awful lot of extra base hits from finding holes consistently that yeah this could be a career year but he's been super valuable and doing things that are needed badly.

I do think it's interesting that the two MLB teams that resemble City in terms of their relentlessness and ability to go on insane runs to hunt teams down are Milwaukee and Cleveland, two small market teams. I do think the Brewers are a lot more relentless than this model of Cleveland. It basically requires a team to be perfect down the stretch to go toe to toe with them. Don't feel that way about this year's Cleveland.

I will say that as an Arsenal supporter, I do feel like I have some immediate experience of what this is like. In other words, I have supported a team that has felt like it's being chased by the T-1000 from Terminator with Man City. There are some similarities with the Guardians and City but this also feels like how I felt about City last year, being a team with real vulnerabilities. Guardians pitching isn't as good as what it was in their pomp. They got away with it against the Angels. But there are teams they will be playing that won't let them get away with it. It does feel like a psychodrama though.

Sounds like Buxton is out for this series, the kid they called up will replace him. Don't care how talented this kid is, I'll never be sad to avoid Buxton. A great player, with a body that just never seems to get totally healthy.

Martin rebounding would be absolutely huge. I'd feel good about this team competing for a pennant if Burke and Martin could pitch like they were earlier in the season. They were pitching like legit #1 and #2 pitchers.

8/27 Games
No, and he apparently went 5 innings or so tonight, 59 pitches. Seems like as much of a little rest and "reset" as any injury. The blister was a good excuse to get it done.

"Born in Winkler, Manitoba, about 90 minutes southwest of Winnipeg, at 16 years old Peters made the roughly 13-hour trip west to attend the Dawgs Baseball Academy in Okotoks, Alberta, just south of Calgary. Peters said it was about that time that he realized he might get to play professional baseball someday. “I think it started just before I moved out, I heard about this guy at Okotoks that was probably going to get drafted out of high school, his name was Clayton Keyes. And sure enough, he did. He turned it down and went to college, but that’s how I got motivated. I was like, ‘I want to do that.’ It didn’t happen in high school for me, so I had to take a little longer path, but it was a good path,” Peters said. Peters went undrafted out of high school, but his baseball story continued. He started his college career at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Arizona, then transferred to Southern Illinois University before the Brewers selected him in the seventh round of the 2021 draft. Along the way, he returned to Okotoks to play for the program’s summer college league team in the Western Canadian League in 2019." Trading him off this second half poor spell would be criminal for a small market team.- White sox culture
More appropriate for a Braden thread but still fitting as a culture piece. Absolutely loved this production and know many others here will also: https://mlb-cuts-diamond.mlb.com/FORGE/2026/2026-08/26/e8c02fe4-76a39b68-2d0f2345-csvm-diamondgcp-asset.m3u8- Eugenio Suarez put on waivers
