  2. But Peralta went for WAY more than Castillo. Three top 30 prospects in a good system vs one in a decent system, a mediocre MLB reliever with another year of control, and a nothing AAAA guy. Like maybe it'd be Lodise or Wolkow instead.
  3. Just use lots of capitalized words and exclamation marks. It helps for at least a little while.
  4. Wasn’t able to watch the Red’s series save for a part of yesterday’s “action”. I’m strapped in and locked on for this one! ITS FUCKING GO TIME!!! SWEEP THESE p**** ASSHOLE BITCHES!!!! LETS FUCKING GO!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Pisses me off so much. We should have easily been able and motivated enough to exceed the package Cleveland gave for Foster Griffin. Something like Oppor / Bush / Carela / Zalava
  6. Yes, they did. The $7.3 million remaining of the final year of Gausman’s contract ($23 million for 2026).
  7. He just needs to keep hitting at the same clip he showed in Boston. Good for a 289 WRC+. Easy.
  8. This reminds me of the late July series in Detroit in 2009, day after Buehrle perfect game. 5 games above .500, but then lost 3/4 and ran out of gas.
  9. It is the contract that drags down the cost for Castillo. Picking up more of that sunk cost is where they would have saved.
  10. I believe they won 9 of 11 he started at one point very recently. Seem to remember a X post about it.
  11. We bought the Disney timeshare program (Disney Vacation Club) about 4 years ago. We have stayed at Riviera at WDW, and the Aluani resort in Hawaii so far. If you travel to Disney on a regular basis, it is a great deal and gets you ahead of everyone else for reservations. Man was it expensive though.
  12. Not even sure if it would be that much of a discount. Freddy Peralta was roughly comparable numbers-wise to Castillo, is only signed for the rest of this year, and it took three top 30 prospects from a good Rays system (outfielder Aidan Smith (Rays' No. 15), right-hander Gary Gill Hill (No. 26) and infielder Émilien Pitre (No. 27)).
  13. Yeah, it's not cheap but I coughed up for a subscription to Crain's a few months ago. I'd imagine they'd have to re-route the active tracks to the western edge of the property where the BNSF/Metra maintenance building is now. I wonder where they'd move that maintenance yard too? Perhaps along the tracks somewhere between Halsted and Western? And yes, adding the BNSF property resolves the space constraint questions for a ballpark on part of the site.
  14. Even if you push the cost down from say Boston Smith to someone in the mid to late 20's, that's something.
  15. Correction: he's already largely converted to 3B. There's very much something of a luxury Jake Burger profile in there.
  16. He is beating the absolute f*** out of the ball in AA at a young age, plays SS and just posted a homeplate-to-first time that puts him at 60-grade speed. I'd hope your coming around to him.
  17. Must win game tonight…desperately need to wipe off the stink of two should have been wins against the Reds.
  18. You mean @ron883, right?
  19. Today

  20. Getz pretty much said this as well in a post trade deadline video. That they have top guys and lower level guys but not the in between prospects that were mostly traded at the deadline.
  21. Yup, they felt they could survive a month with Bart in the mix before Teel came back. The lack of adding a second SP could prove deadly.
  22. They weren't getting that much of a prospect discount for $4m of Ray's salary. Castillo they would have been able to get for less, but eating money directly is different than including a major league reliever who has a history of some success. I don't think the discount would be as big as you're thinking here.
  23. And if it serves my memory right, the Cubs picked up his contract, no? This is exactly what I am talking about.
